So really that's any job that requires the employee to say "Hun" a lot.

I think stripper is taking it too far. The male equivalent of that would probably be drug dealer.

Someone who makes lots of money while doing a fairly looked down upon job?
Gotta go with stripper

I would think some sort of low end clothing or cosmetics retail clerk.

Stay at home mom.
They always call that a job anyway.

Wut?
Nursing is a somewhat difficult field to get into.

I'm sorry male nurse but they are pretty comparable.

I'm definitely not a male nurse. If they are comparable, give me a few comparisons.

You've got to be kidding with the nurse thing

I actually first thought of stripper. It's legal and you make pretty damn good money if you work hard and are good at what you do.
I think being a prostitute would be the female equivalent to a drug dealer.

-shift work, usually with periods of heavy workload followed by brief time off
-helps to have a background that fits the stereotype of the gender (women as caregivers, men as manual laborers)
-advancement determined by willingness to put in the hours and endure bullshite, both capable of making good money in the long run
-ease of moving between employers, once in the field
-both think they can do the job better than the book-learned person who makes more money (engineer vs doctor) and in some cases are right
-good stable career for someone who wasn't quite sure what they wanted to do (my nurse friend is a graphic design graduate)
-broad range of specialization in the field
Yes, I'll give you that nurses have more education, but the other similarities outweigh that for me.
