He is a 2 for 1 player, gives up 2 baskets for every one he scores...

Just being honest. He will have a role to come off the bench and shoot 3s, help Beard/Bell/Babb bust zones, etc, for short periods during the game, he isn't going to come in and be the guy to replace Madden when he becomes eligible.

Bell is a better athlete and defender, and we've all heard just how shitty Bell is at playing defense.

Bell has also been a better scorer on the court.

Effective Field Goal Percentage (EFG%) is a stat that takes into account the fact that 3-pointers are worth 50% more than 2-pointers (3 to 2). Therefore, it assigns made 3-point field goals a value of 1.5 to make the player's total percentage seem more accurate.

Here are the 2014 EFG% numbers, with Hannahs' included:

I've not paid attention. Has Hannahs announced that he's transferring here?

Yes, and on scholarship.

This means we are done in recruiting for the year unless someone else decides to transfer which we might not know about until the end of the week (Anderson is conducting one on ones this week).

No other players are anticipated to transfer.

I'm with you Dale. Some fans and Wall Hall are acting like he is this amazing shooter. We have better shooters on the team than him already.

I just said watch him make threes.

Its fun.

I just saw on Twitter (it was a retweet!) where Wally Hall compared him to Pat Bradley as a shooter.

We are getting a role player who is a decent shooter behind the arc and will provide breather minutes for Bell and Babb when he becomes eligible.

He is 6'3" 200+, his redshirt year will need a heavy emphasis on conditioning and learning to play defense.

The hype he is getting does not match the player, it is nearing a Marvell Waith level of being ridiculous. If he wasn't from LR he would not be getting this amount of hype.

You need to tweet at Wally Hall that Marijuana use is not legal in Arkansas at this date...

No clue.

BTW: The Bradley comparison has elevated the hype past the Waithe level, it is nearing a Kane Whitehurst = Wes Welker level of retard.

Bradley was one of the best 3 point shooters not only at Arkansas but in the SEC.

Bradley could catch and shoot off screens, pull up in transition, do a "step back", shoot with a hand in his face, etc. He was probably the last "great" jump shot shooter the program has had because he could get his shot off in so many different way.

Hannahs is a spot up shooter, meaning he isn't going to be able to come of a screen and hit a high % with his momentum going away from the basket or in a direction other than straight up like Bradley could. He isn't going to be able to get a defender on his heels and step back for a three, he isn't going to hit a high percentage of contested shots.

He is more similar to Madden in that he is "money" when he has time to get his feet under him, shoulders square, spot up and shoot.

Bell is closer to Bradley than Hannahs and I would never had come up with any idea to compare Bell to Bradley because Bell is not on Bradley's level.

shite like this is why you have boards melting down and coaches thrown under the bus for not "using players right" or "making players worse" because the so called experts in this state don't have a clue what they are looking at and hype the shite out of a decent role player because he is from this state. This happens in football, I know, but I'm not going to be able to break down why like in basketball (other here can).

I watched several TTU games this year and last, neither Hannahs or Ross looked like guy we missed out on badly, meaning they would not be program changing players for us like the local media hype leads many to believe, hell, neither of those guys have changed TTUs program and Hannahs had a Bell like green light to shoot there.

Hannahs can be a good player for us and fill a needed roll, but the next Pat Bradley? How about the next Blake Eddins... if he has the awesome wit and sense of humor about him.

Yea I'll be surprised if Hannah's see the floor an extended amount of time while at Arkansas.

I have a hard time believing he'll play much at all really.

He will get minutes when needed, most likely, like if a team wants to zone up against us.

Basically, he has a well defined, but limited skill set which equates to play a role on a team.

I don't want it to sound like I'm "talking down about him", I do not have a problem with him transferring here or being on scholarship, what I do have a problem with is media and posters hyping him up to a level he will never be able to achieve, it isn't fair to anyone involved, the player, the staff, or the fans.

We just had two players who are going to graduate that were extremely hyped, both were said to be excellent three point shooters and two of the best defenders in their class who was going to take us back to the tourney, one a PG the other a SG.

Knowing their names (Wade, Scott) does the results and their abilities match the hype?

Doubt we'd be taking him if MA didn't see something in him and didn't think he could use him in his system

That's good enough for me

It will be ok to continue to question (melt) why MA is still bringing in mediocre players like Wagner, Hannah and Thompson in his effort to turn around this program.

We are going on his 4th year of rebuilding.
