What are yal's thoughts on Jake's announcement Thursday? We're thinking he's borderline a lock to Clemson. Are yal hearing the same?

Will be incredible if we can pair this stud with Hyatt. Best OT haul we've ever had.

Shocked if it isn't Clemson.

He's an Alabama legacy. But apparently never got an offer.

Fine by me. Dude is a stud and has said multiple times he isn't begging for a Bama offer and wants to make his own name.

Definitely helps not having Saban in it thought haha.

Even with a Bama offer, I don't think he would have gone there. He's pretty hell bent on doing his own thing.

He has an interesting body shape for an oline. Saw a recent picture of him and he looks more like a TE physically speaking. I also remember reading last year where he lacks a lot of upper body strength and has less than impressive weight lifting numbers. Not sure how much he has improved on that since last year.

In any case he looks like he will be a good one with a few years in a college S&C program.

Yea he is definitely going to have to put on weight. He and Hyatt both would be in the natural 240# range would it never be for any sort of lifting.

As Clemson fans, however, this is significantly better than the alternative where we take fatties like Antoine McClain and Spencer Region. Gimme a guy who's got a large frame with quick feet but who's naturally thin over some fatass who's gotta lose 30# to be able to play.

If you can't gain 20-30# in a college strength program then that's on us. And even then we could use you as a blocking TE. Guys like Region and McClain are going to struggle to get into playing shape. How many people do you know who lost weight in college let alone 30+#?!?!

As expected, Jake selected the good guys. Now time to get him on the meat and potatoes diet!

Even when temporarily on top they don't know how to.

Watson plus bookend tackles in Hyatt and Jake = Restoring Order

Is the #1 tackle in the country, by some services, really that undersized? If so, how did he manage to hold his own as a sophomore against the older Nkemdiche and a junior against Carter being so underweight?

50# is a bit much, but he'll probably put on 30 easily during the course of his career.

The fact that he was able to hold his own against the guys you mentioned goes to show just how much potential he has. The guy has the athleticism and feet of a TE with the frame and strength of an OT.

He should be incredible barring injury.

DJ Humphries and Xavier Nixon were both undersized #1 Tackles. Of course, they both have not played like #1 Tackles. DJ still has a chance this year, but I am not holding my breath.

Ivey is the #1 tackle in the country. The services that don't have him #1 need to reevaluate their evaluations.
