Alabama cornerback Eddie Jackson has a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of spring practice, sources told ESPN.

Jackson started four games and appeared in seven contests as a true freshman last season, racking up 19 tackles, an interception and two fumble recoveries. The Florida native and former four-star prospect had been working with the first-team defense for much of the spring before injuring his knee during a scrimmage on Saturday.

Alabama coach Nick Saban said Jackson hurt his knee in a "noncontact" situation where he jumped for the football and "came down funny.

With TB limited too, we might have to move Geno, Washington, or Cook back to CB at least for the rest of spring

Hump is good. The problem is he is still very raw. In high school he didn't have to do much because the other team would just throw away from him. There were games where he only had one pass thrown in his direction. During the AL-MS all star game he would get burned by bigger WRs. Same thing with UAAA practice.

He is someone you want starting for you late in the season when he gets more experience as the extra db, not your field or boundary corner.

If he does start our secondary will struggle, but will be downright nasty in 2015.

If we start sylve and jones ima be very nervous. I'd be more comfortable with brown band Humphrey

Lot of people forgetting about Maurice Smith. I'd bet him and jones will be the starters and will do a fine job. Both could have gone anywhere in the country and have a full season under their belt at corner in this system. We'll be fine. Sucks to lose Eddie but it's only going to make our defense better down the road. Not conceding 2014 by any means, because I think we'll win it all, but the corners for 2015 will be

Senior Cyrus Jones
Junior Mo Smith
Sophomore Eddie Jackson
Sophomore Tony Brown
Sophomore Marlon Humphrey.

All these guys will have experience.

I just don't think I can take another year of Cyrus Jones at corner unless he makes a huge turnaround. He had some of the worse cornerback play I've seen since Saban started at Bama.

I'm really surprised Anthony Averett has been completely lost in the talk of depth charts (organizational groupings) and what not.

I did forget about Maurice Smith. He has some experience (played in 11 games last year as a true freshman)
