LSU Spring Game Thoughts

So I promised in another thread I would post my thoughts on here so here it goes.
Quarterbacks
Anthony Jennings - Had a pretty rough day. Threw 2 pick 6's and had some accuracy issues. He did make a few good throws that were in tight windows so the potential is there, but Cameron has his work cut out for them.
Brandon Harris - Holy crap his arm strength. Dude can make all the throws. He looked like the better of the 2 quarterbacks today. The zip on his passes is NFL like. His accuracy could use some work but his deep ball is pretty damn good for a freshman. Honestly, if the game was any indication of how the spring practice has been, Harris should start (in my not so expert opinion).
Overall, both need work and will struggle this season but I expect whoever starts to make big strides throughout the season as both seemed very coach-able and receptive to Cameron.
Running Backs
Lack of depth was pretty apparent here because we only have 2 scholarship guys on roster right now. Hilliard looks improved and Magee looks about like he did last year. Hilliard had the better game of the 2 but we really don't know what this will look like until Fournette gets here because, you guys know, he's going in dry on all y'all.
Wide Receivers
Lack of depth here is also apparent but Travin Dural will be a solid SEC receiver. He had a couple of nice touchdown catches and his routes looked really good. Leslie has good speed and got way open a couple times but the QB's didn't see him. Diarse didn't really do much that I remember. Malachi and Quinn should get a shitload of playing time though.
Offensive Line/Tights Ends
This offensive line will be one of the best if not the best line in the SEC. They are just solid at every position down the line. Lael Collins is a beast in the run game and looks to be improving in the passing game. As for the tight ends, it looks like they are finally going to be a big piece of our offense. Desean Smith is a name to look for here. He had a nice crossing route TD from Harris.
Overall, I look for the offense to be running a good bit and am just looking for solid improvement throughout the year. We are going to be relying on a lot of freshman, so if those guys are as good as they are billed it could be good or it could be bad if the opposite is true.
Defensive Line
Danielle Hunter DE
This guy is going to be a straight up beast. I'm expecting some big things from him. He was just unblockable (granted it was the second string OL). Christian Lacouture is a name to look for at DT. I really feel like the DL is going to be one of the upper units in the SEC.
Linebackers
Definitely going to be a strong unit and we have plenty of depth here. Welter does look improved. Beckwith (second string MLB) is clearly the better athlete but Welter just knows where he is supposed to be pretty much all the time. The OLBs looked good. Kwon is still Kwon, fast and great tackler. Debo Jones was running with the 2s but he looked really really good, he just flies to the ball. Lamar Louis looked pretty good on opposite Kwon as well. I expect this to be one of the top groups in the SEC.
Defensive Backs
Rashard Robinson and Tre White This is going to be the best duo we've had since Matheiu and Claiborne. Rashard's potential is just through the roof. Jalen Mills moving from CB to FS looks to be a good move and he seems to have a real command of the position already. Ricky Jefferson looked really athletic at SS. This group of DBs is going to be filthy. Add in Ed Paris (early enrolee) who had a PBU and looked pretty good. Then Jalen Collins at the #3 corner who looked vastly improved from last year. I'm so excited for this group.
Overall, the quarterback situation will probably hold us back a bit and might cost us a game or 2 but the defense is going to be back on track and should be able to make up for the QBs shortcomings. I'm expecting anywhere from 9-11 wins but 2015 looks extremely bright because this team is really young.
Also, TL,DR; tDecline, etc.
Hopefully this'll give y'all a peak at what to expect from LSU next year in my not-so-expert football perspective.

I wish I could have watched it.

Nice, objective write up. I think you've minimized the qb situation, though.

Does Auburn return everybody outside of Robinson?

Brandon Harris has only had weeks of college football practice time.
By the time the season starts, he will be the real deal.

We've established that's Bama, son.

My first thought when I read his post. I think the OL will be improved over last season.

It would be really interesting to see an all freshmen skill position line up. Harris at QB, Fournette at RB, Dupre and Quinn at WR. The offense would have to be very simplified and just rely on their skill. This seems bad, but it seemed to work for Auburn last year.

Yes, on offensive line.

You can see the athleticism... good speed and throws a nice ball. With that said, starting a TF at QB will cost LSU a couple games (granted maybe not as many as starting Jennings).
