I have to go there for business and I have no clue what is the best place to fly in to. Had thought about going to Memphis and staying a night in Oxford. Is there a closer option?

There is a flight from Atlanta to tupelo but it is on Silver airlines so I am sure I would be sitting with chickens next to me.

Any advice would be great.

Probably just Memphis. Are there no hotels in Tupelo? Oxford's slightly out of the way- it's a straight shot on I-22 from Memphis to Tupelo

There are hotels but I would rather stay somewhere more fun.

Is oxford too far out of the way? Always wanted to go there

It's about 35 mins from tupelo straight shot.

It's not that far out of the way at all. I'm just overly practical when it comes to travel

Practical would be taking the silver airlines flight for 145 bucks.

I don't want to die.

Oxford is 75 minutes from the airport, and Oxford is a solid 50 from Tupelo. It's about a half an hour addition.

Sounds worth it. What is that nice hotel in Oxford?

Do you have to be an alumni to stay at the alumni hotel?

No, according to the website it's not really the "Alumni Hotel" anymore, but the Inn at Ole Miss

I would drive before I flew silver. They suck, and cancel/delay so often you may end up driving anyway

You will love the price of your flight. Memphis is now one of the most expensive places to fly to/from in the country. From the airport get on Lamar/78 and go east to tupelo.

I'd fly Silver on the Turbo Prop and avoid MEM and the 98 mile hike.
