He will be giving Meyer more than to be bargained with in that conference.

As long as he doesn't do a Michigan....good classes and crappy results on the field.

I hope so. Urban heads to OSU to escape the SEC and ends up being challenged by a coach who left the SEC for a better opportunity.

What's his recruiting pitch?

"We have great academics, we used to be relevant years ago, we have nice facilities and a committed fan base, there are no more known child rapists and we have a system to identify and deal with them now, everybody gets a shot to start day 1, Big1G is on a rebound and...."

Great, as long as he stays our of the SE to recruit I'd like to see him succeed up there to challenge Urby.

Everyone knew PSU was getting a guy who could recruit. He never wowed me on gamedays.

He has gotten some really good players, and could easily make PSU a top 15 program again, where they should be. If we could just get Nebraska back to some sort of prominence the conference could go somewhere

He won at Vanderbilt. That's called "wow" on gameday.

That's going to be tough. The factors that enabled Nebraska to become a football power are no longer operative. They still have some history to rely on, but it's fading fast, and doesn't count for a lot w/ today's recruits anyway.

But I guess SOMEbody has to win the B1G West, so Nebraska's got that going for it, which is nice.

As for PSU, Franklin's a great coach. I think he'll be an asset to the conference.

Meh, he beat a bunch of teams with losing records.

Reminds me of Tennessee, lots of low end 4 stars, not spectacular overall average. Only difference was Tennessee had a couple legit guys sprinkled in there. Start out ranked high early simply because of numbers, then slowly drift back to the pack.

Seriously? He's got one of the easiest pitches to make right now.

And I thought it was tough dealing with negative stereotypes as an OM fan. It's got to be exhausting for Penn State fans. I feel bad for them.

I'm sure there are many decent, good Penn State fans.

But the way so many of them reacted back in 2011, they deserve a little shaming. That kind of fanaticism is unhealthy and can lead to some really bad consequences.

Penn State is one of the best college towns in the country. It is absolutely isolated from everything by hours.

They have an extremely passionate fanbase. They have great tradition, and a winning tradition.

Penn State to me is on par with the UGA job.
