It's been known all year around Kentucky that Ware wasn't coming back to Louisville despite their spin; he's been in legal trouble, there's rumors of drug troubles, he was a distraction to the team. He was never released because of his "story" but he hasn't been with the team in months.

You mean kind of like a couple of the Auburn fans that have been crying about Julius Randle in the UK game threads.
In the OP's defense, he's not here as much as others and missed the whopping one other thread that was started over here.
And yes, he had legal issues.

Has Ware's possible transfer to an SEC school been discussed a lot on this board? First I have read about it, although I haven't really been on since last week.
I think it's an interesting story since most people remember his crazy injury pretty well.

We need transfers like these to give Pearl something to work with. As it stands we have one good player on the team.

It'll be a good transfer if Pearl can handle whatever issues he's had off the court. People don't talk about it much because of the bigger story, but he was suspended during their championship season as well. If he doesn't get a waiver to play immediately, it may serve him well to sit another year if he's continued to have issues with his leg. And maybe being closer to home will help with the other issues.
ETA: There's a local kid named Ian Chiles that's transferring out of IUPUI (their coach isn't returning I believe). I'm curious if Pearl will go after him since he's a decent guard. Click me.
