Well, we had a mixed bag of results in SEC conference play this week. How do you think the baseball teams stack up now?

If you want to contribute to this week's Baseball Power Rankings, submit your 1-14 ranking of the SEC teams here or email it to me (email is in my profile). Voting closes at the end of Monday, and the winners will be announced in the Baseball Power Rankings thread on Tuesday

Here are some suggestions that we give to the regular voters:
quote:

We aren't going to tie your hands with a "formula" but we encourage you to use some of the following: the past week's results, team momentum/trend, conference record, rankings (RPI, SOS, CBN, Coaches, NPI, etc), team stats, OOC record, overall record, eye-test. We trust that you're able to form your own combo of these elements without our guidance, but we would like you to emphasize what a team has most recently accomplished.

Week 2 PR:
1. South Carolina
2. Ole Miss
3. LSU
3. Vandy
5. MSU
6. Kentucky
7. Auburn
8. Tennessee
9. Alabama
9. A&M
11. Florida
12. Arky
13. UGA
14. Missouri

ETA: I really wanted to put OM lower, like around 12th or so, but the only thing that kept me from it was how impressive the Bama pitching was for the most part. OM shot themselves in the foot several times, but if Bama can sustain their hitting and couple that with what has been solid pitching to this point, they are a dangerous ball club. ROWLTAHD

Race for SEC Championship/Hosting:
1. South Carolina (most impressive overall team)
2. Mississippi State (hard to score on Lindgren and Mitchell when they are throwing 2 hitters)
3. Vanderbilt (by virtue of losing 2 of 3 to MSU)
4. Alabama (surprise of year. Pitching has been good)
5. Florida (much improved)

NCAA Regional Teams:
6. Kentucky (Bats are ridiculous)
7. Ole Miss (Would still be in first tier if could have avoided sweep)
8. LSU (Still LSU, but losing 2 of 3 to MSU this week could hurt)
9. Auburn (Looks like the solid 3 seed FSU doesn't want in their regional)

Fighting for an NCAA Tournament Spot:
10. Arkansas
11. Tennessee (one of these teams will make the tournament)

Sucks
12. Texas A&M
13. Georgia
14. Missouri

Thanks for the one spot bump! I guess sweeping LSU ain't what it used to be.
