That at the beginning of last season they would've had a 18 point lead in the 2013 national championship game, would any of yall believed it?
I honestly would have laughed. I still chuckle about it after I watched it happen. Unbelievable.
Auburn will be even better this year. That's scary to think about.

I would've lost my life savings on that bet.

People are hilarious. We think things are impossible and then go into shock when our assumptions turn out wrong...then we hop on the bandwagon of the team that shocked us.
What an incredible year for auburn. They shocked the world and made fools of us who didn't believe. Now to hear people talk, it's as if they crushed everyone in their path.
I'm ready for another season. :)

you sound like a scared little bitch and grow a pair. You will be able to relax after tFlagship whips Auburn's arse in game one. Then you can come back and thank us.

And that's why I don't put massive stock in Auburn having a repeat this year. I think we can and surely hope, but too many crazy things can happen. If we could have added to that 18 points... damn!

The thing is even if Auburn is legitimately a better team they still might drop 3 games or so.

Think I predicted 9 wins for us.
So yeah, last season was a big surprise. And it is always the seasons where you really exceed expectations that are the best.
If AU would have made one more play to hold on against FSU, it would probably have gone down as my all time favorite season. As it is, it is still probably my second favorite season ever, only behind 2010, which was also sort of a surprise though I expected us to win 10 games in 2010.

Sure. Same goes for any great team any year that plays in the SEC and specifically the SEC west.
With three legit top 10 teams, all of which could easily contend and win the national championship and all of which have to play each other, 3 losses is always possible. Especially for AU which also plays the two best teams in the East and also top type teams this year.

Auburn's run last year was based on getting some luck....tip pass, fat lineman on the field for Alabama to allow the return, etc. The luck ran out after FSU figured out they needed to shield their play calls on the sideline in the title game.
Auburn may or may not be better next year, but it will be tough to have that type of luck again.

On paper they should be better and I think they will be. It just so hard to repeat as SEC Champs that they may not improve in terms of wins and losses.

I assume you are referring to the UGA and bama games when you say luck.
Let me take a moment to educate you.
The refs blew a call that would have essentially ended the game when they gave Murray the TD that put UGA ahead when he didn't get in the end zone. Therefore, a bad call (bad luck) was the only reason UGA was able to take the lead at all. Therefore, your kinda stupid if you think the UGA game was a lucky win. It was decidedly unlucky we even had to score that last TD.
Against bama, they decided to try the kick. We called timeout and put our best returner back there to try and return it for the TD. That is called good coaching. Also, the "luckiest" play in the entire IB was the 99 yard TD for Cooper when our DBs ran into each other.
Finally, what put FSU in position to win the game was the 99 yard kickoff return for the TD. Two things. Our kicker was not healthy going into the NC game. He kicked them out of the end zone all year. Then our cover guy that gave up the lane to the kick returner pulled his hammy and went down right after the ball was kicked which is what opened up the return.
I can argue AU was unlucky last year better than you can argue lucky.
