hard to do at this point. We're taking a different approach this year in that we're offering more guys early on and evaluating them as they go. I don't think we'll really push until after the spring eval period ends or even over the summer.

Another thing is last year they wanted to lock guys up early because the season was going to be rough. I think expectations are that we'll be pretty decent and there won't be a mid-season meltdown. Don't be surprised if we have a lot of open spots still come fall.

See, now this was the kind of explanation I was looking for when I posed the question on the previous page on why there seemingly hasn't been much activity so far this cycle. And then shane decided to go full count, and accuse me of melting.

This explanation makes since.

Interesting couple things I read today.

-We offered the brother of WR Josh Reynolds today. Moses Reynolds plays QB/WR at Jay HS in San Antonio, however we offered as an athlete and a couple people think because we did that, we might put him on the defensive side of the ball as a corner or nickel back. He's about 6'1 175 or so, so smaller than big bro but he's an exceptional athlete. His only other big offer is Oklahoma State.

Spring practice is wrapping up, and there's a lot of big name recruits in this weekend. There's no official spring game because of construction to Kyle as we know but hopefully we get a couple yessirs tmw or Sunday.

Hamm regarding eric monroe

quote:

He didn't commit to A&M before leaving campus a little while ago but its safe to say something was said to a certain few to give the indication he's going to be an Aggie down the road, hence the tweets from Jordan Davis, who he stayed with over the weekend

Quote from eric monroe in hamms update
quote:

Ok, say I commit there, other people will want to commit to them as well,” he said. “That’s something I’m looking at too. I’m going to commit at The Opening. It’s really about where I feel at home at.”

What does this mean? Has it been publicly known that he was going to commit at The Opening?

Make sense, last year we had to hurry up and capitalize on our 2012-2013 successes one last time. We really don't have as much to sell in the offseason as well.

Well that sucks. Especially since we will probably have to play against him.

I think its pretty open. He didn't shut the door on recommitting.

Isn't recommitting really rare?
