I think it's more about connecting with the characters. If you can't do that then you won't be interested

I was hooked from the first episode.
I had that feeling with The Wire - I'm currently on season 2 and really enjoying it now.

see I'm more of a comedy kinda person, the office, parks ad rec, scrubs. The only really action tv show I watch is psych which was also part comedy so that is probably why it took me a while to get into it
