Splitting time on it...

Leggo Mizzou!

They just don't have any SEC arms. I saw 2 games of the series in Oxford last weekend, and that's all their squad lacks from being decently competitive...

We sucked all the way up to and through the CCC. Nothing was clicking and Golloway was in the middle of processing some guys he didn't think fit the team's goals. Shortly thereafter we found our stride and haven't looked back.

If anything, pitching is our strength. You do realize our rotation got dorked up when our Friday night starter took an errant throw to the ear in warm ups and we had to shake up the rotation just 20 minutes before game time. Graves ended up able to pitch on Sunday and had his worst outing of the season, 2 runs in 7 innings pitched and left with a 3-2 lead. Arms really aren't the problem. It's the bats and defense. Both are either lacking or not timely.

Mizzou wins 4-3, and throws their ace Brett Graves this weekend

Yeah, we have some pitchers. Graves and Steele are good.

Nice to get a win. Don't come often

The 13th best ERA, 13th oppBA, 13th K's, 10th doubles allowed, and 12th homers allowed in the league is a strength?

I think you are confused by what you are seeing...

Depth might be an issue with the arms, but:

Brett Graves (Friday starter) 1.51
Steele's ERA just skyrocketed because he gave up 6 runs to OM this last weekend. Believe he was under 2.00 before that.
Tribby has the most appearances in the SEC and has an ERA of 1.42.

Yes, the team ERA is up there, but that has as much to do with the way TJ uses the pitchers (and pitchers that shouldn't be pitching) as it does the performance of our "regulars". Plus, we have a 2nd round draft pick that came to Mizzou and currently has an ERA of 0.00. Sounds great except TJ never uses him and would rather allow someone with an 8.00 ERA come in during mop up duty.

I didn't say nor mean to imply that you don't have a single good arm on the team. I said it was your weakness that I noted without looking at a single stat for the year when I saw you play at OM. You just don't yet have SEC depth on the hill yet -- and that's what will be the biggest part of your undoing overall. You can only ride an ace so far -- and what happens when he gets knocked around? In this league, at some point, he will...

That said, thanks for tonight. I like looking at an early league standings and seeing us and our rivals at the top. Hopefully, it can be sustained until we meet in 2 more weeks in Starkville, when we can (re)set the all-time single game and weekend attendance records and just maybe put them permanently out of reach.
