Just curious. I wasn't exactly blown away by the hire.

Until he does something, he's last on the list.

I think he will do well as an OC with y'all's talent level.

He's been as successful as a SEC OC as I have thus far.

Lets give him a yr please Chin before we try to rank him

You won't see much difference other than a possible speed improvement

The most impressive I saw from Kiffin on tape studying him as OC was how he schemed WRs open and used all his pieces in interesting ways to create mismatches (especially Reggie Bush)

He will be fine

Well Rhett has a loss and Kiffen doesn't so he must be better.

Currently he ranks first in program killers. It's unbelievable Alabama is going to let him ruin what has been built up during the Saban years.

The major difference will be the method to the madness.

What I mean is last year we'd run a screen. It was either successful or it wasn't, but the fact is we just ran it to run it. There was no method behind the playcalling. Kiffin will call a screen and go from there.

Did the screen just net a few yards? Ok, maybe throw another one to a different WR on the other side of the field. Same result? Ok, not PA and fake a screen and go deep to one of these speedier WRs.

Did that first screen gain, say, 45 yards? Ok, now the Safeties are going to be more split and focused on being a last line of defense so they don't give up another big gain. Attack the middle of the field.

How complicated is One-Back Power left, One-Back Power right, Off Tackle, Draw, Screen, and 4 different route combinations?

Oh occasional Two Back Power.

He couldn't get anything done on offense despite having Barkley, Lee, Woods, Silas Redd and a roster loaded with 5*.

And he carries the worst possible minus intangibles. Sun Bowl implosion with players fighting in the locker room, Kiffin throwing Barkely under the bus, changing jersey numbers, deflating football just to name a few. History shows everything he touches turns into shite.

Saban has lost his mind when he hired professional program destroyer Lane Kiffin. I wouldn't want him anywhere near my program.

Until he gets fired as a NFL OC, we can only speculate that he will be a total bust since he has been fired as a NFL HC.

So bust.

He was also the head coach of that team. Things change once you have to take care of the whole picture. Some people are naturals at it, others crumble under the pressure and added workload. When Kiffin was just a coordinator he was one of the best play callers in college football.

You watch highlights from 2005 USC and you see play calling that took advantage of all that 5-star talent the Trojans had on their football team. Kiffin knows how to get the tight ends and fullbacks involved in the passing game, something that gets me excited because of how underutilized Jalston Fowler has been used throughout his career and how underutilized OJ Howard was last year.

It wasn't just him, but Sarkisian was heavily involved with the offense that year.

As for the OP, I think he'll be fine as an OC.

Not trying to sell Kiffikins short but USC was playing patty-cake defenses. It was like playing playstation.
