Downtown San Diego shenanigans?

I've got 2 nights in SD coming up. I won't have a car to get around but am staying in the downtown area (Broadway St)
I know I will have a few hours at the House of Blues.

Gas lamp for sure!!! Also take a harbor cruise tour San Diego Bay and Coronado. Might be too early but see if there is any concerts at Cricket Wireless Amphitheatre.

We are at a conference with one hotel room provided free. I'm not going to argue with that.
And we are apparently staying on the gas lamp strip and are about to go wreck it.
This place is like Austin without the homless, hipsters, and gays*.

I have been panhandled a little bit but not molseted with AIDS like 6th street. Their homeless here are a lot more friendly.

Gaslamp was spectacular and many beers were sang and karaokes drank.
Dinner at a highly recommended Italian place was very meh but tomorrow will be dominant.
