I don't think that has been released yet. I was wondering when the carriage rights for watch ESPN go into effect for Dish.

You won't be buying SEC Network a la carte: it will be part of a programming tier. If you are in the SEC footprint, it will be a lower tier (if not the basic tier, then one step up) than if you are outside of the SEC footprint (you may need to subscribe to the sports tier).

My understanding the problem both Direct and DISH had with the whole deal was that the SECNetwork wanted to charge every customer in the SEC footprint like $1.50 per month. Both Direct and DISH knows many of their customers couldn't give two rips about watching sports of any kind. Not sure how it got resolved with DISH. I don't think Direct has done anything yet.

I would wait until around August before you decide to switch. By then you should have more options and also know if the antitrust division of the Justice Department will challenge the Comcast/TWC merger.

Hope you like getting a sob story every month about how Dish is your advocate and _____ Channel is trying to screw you, so it's no longer available to Dish customers.

+1. Direct TV does this as well.

I switched to UVerse after probably 15 years with DISH because of this. They started bickering with our Fox affiliate and NBC (same company owns them) so I switched. Not but couple of months later, DISH customers here lost CBS for weeks.

Same.

If it works for them, fine, but getting radio ads and whatnot asking customers to write NBC/whoever is absurd. I pay you, an on top of it I'm supposed to advocate for you in your PR wars?

DISH already released their promo for the SEC NETWORK along with the packages.

SEC NETWORK DISH PACKAGES

There is even an iPad 2 that's given away with the HOPPER on the 34.99 or higher packages. I'm giving DirecTV till August before I switch over, if need be.

Those packages typically go up a good bit after 12 months or so. Read the small print very carefully. When I quit them, I had 3 DVR HD receivers and the Top 200 I think and I was way North of $100 per month.
