What would be the best 3 to 5 things to get aggie football really going next few years. Can be any idea you have personally - recruiting, coaching, facilities... whatever. Not looking for the "most correct" answer - just fan opinions.

They need to make sure their kicker adopts a soccer-style approach. It is the superior sport after all. We have much to learn from it.

We're getting the facilities, and I think we have the coaching (at least w/ Sumlin and most of the staff). Best thing would be to have a 9+ win season this year. It would dismiss a lot of the "Sumlin has never won w/o players/QBs he didn't recruit" talk. At least enough to maintain recruiting momentum. Specifically wins over the bigger name schools on the conference schedule would be helpful.

More and more, Texas kids want to play in the SEC. If they think we're going to stay competitive in the SEC, we'll be their first choice. Also, the horns are doing us a favor, with the way their program has been of late. Wouldn't mind them continuing that for a while.

So that's a long way to say recruiting, recruiting, recruiting.

If it's a question of what is "missing" the only thing really is winning. The facilities are going to be elite. Sumlin so far appears to be a great coach (though we need to get over the hump). Recruiting is excellent to elite, esp considering A&M hasn't won a conf Title in a decade and a half. It's taken a long time and the right circumstances to put it together but its all there.

If A&M were to by some miracle win the SEC this year (which no one is predicting), watch out. All the puzzle pieces are in place and the resources are basically unlimited. A&M is still a sleeping giant that has really only started to wake up, if you add some real winning to the equation it would explode.

Continue the path Sumlin and co started.

Facility, coaching, and the last 2 classes are excellent. Now just win and stay ahead of the curve.

I will be the one to say it:

It would help if Charlie Strong flops and OU's Bama win is the last great win of Stoop's career.

Agreed. Maybe if LSU BAMA and Auburn stop being going to the champion ship every year. That could contribute.

1. A successful national re-launch of a shiny new Kyle Field (marketing, player recruitment, fan relations)
2. [Huge] Defensive strides
3. Good ol' fashioned luck (see Auburn '13)
4. Player conditioning/the team staying healthy
5. A solid, football supportive attitude in our to-be-hired university president

Winning ten in '14 coupled with Strong losing more than winning in his inaugural season.

That would secure our recruiting for the next three years such that we'd have as much talent as anyone by '17.

Recruiting defensive depth, pretty much all over but especially d-line, LBs, and safety, is #1-3 right now. Happy with where facilities, coaching, and offensive depth is at right now.

I hate LSU, but I do listen when one of y'all talk liquor. You usually know what you're talking about in that arena.

There's really only one thing that the Aggies need to be successful...a defense. Because up to now, they haven't had one.
