Cliffs per AUR LINK
-JJ said AU will look into getting some show-cause relief but not optimistic
-Expects Pearl out of recruiting completely til August
-Tony Jones is completely ready to recruit for Pearl
-knows what CBP wants, what he'd say about a player, & what he'd say to a player.
-been together a long time
-coached at Alcoa (Tenn.) HS for a 2 years since UT release and then past year working in Sales in health administration
-says AU will anyone anywhere for non con scheduling
-Steven Pearl also on staff says he won't be out recruiting
-Works w/ Stryker Med Tech company
-plans to work with players and meeting their needs
-Role sounds like he will be Director of Basketball Operations
-CSP thinks CBP will hire 2 more full time assistants
-AU will not try to get out of Under Armour deal
-Pearl will not continue work w/ Adidas
-JJ believes CBP can get it done with UA as he did in the past w/ Nike & Adidas
-CBP was the 1 guy Doc Robinson feels can overcome the current UA sitch FWIW

I can remember no other time in my life when I was actually looking forward to basketball season.

Who exactly are Steven Pearl and Tony Jones? Were they part of his previous staff? I assume Steven Pearl is Bruce's son, but is that his only connection to Bruce?

Steven is his son and walked on at UT. He did not have SEC talent but became a very tenacious defensive player.
As said in my OP Jones has been with Pearl a long time. That meant on his staff. More Specifically on Jones, he spent every year with Pearl at UW Milwaukee and UT. Jones was Pearl's lead recruiter and recruiting coordinator

UT consistently had one of the toughtest OOC schedules every year under pearl, glad to see that being carried over.

I expect Chuck Person to be hired on as one of the other assistants. The dude wouldn't fly all the way back from South Korea for Pearl's PC if there wasn't a legitimate reason for him to be there.

Person coming back for a PC seems weird to me. I wonder if he comes back to get a degree to try and get in the college game

We weren't looking to add anyone in the late signing period which begins in April under Barbee but now I'm sure they're going to want to add someone to the front court so we'll see. Not nearly as many prospects left out there right now so it will be difficult to find talent.

There is a juco PF name willie atwood who AU had already offered who apparently is interested in playing for CBP he is 4* on 247 3* composite rating and listed as 6-8 215

We still have room for 2 more signees. We have 3 seniors leaving plus Chris Griffin left the team in Jan opening up a total of 4 scholarships.

Not a fan of this.
Do I REALLY think the UA thing will be that much of a hindrance for Pearl? No. Pearl is a national name, basically a national brand. Everybody and their mom knows who Bruce Pearl is. He's going to get players here. But we're spending $2.2M for the guy. Why not let Pearl have his own apparel endorsement for basketball and remove an unnecessary hurdle?
It would be downright frightening (for other schools) if Pearl could get the elite AAU kids funneled his way.
