Without looking anything up, if I'm not mistaken, Nick Marshall is the first QB to return to Auburn with a year under his belt in quite some time.

How do y'all feel about this situation? As an LSU fan I can say I was very hesitant about Mett even as far as midway through this season before he really grew on me.

Are y'all happy y'all return a veteran signal caller even if he's not the most polished passer and do y'all feel as if he can improve on the passing game with the receiving core getting a boast?

First time Malzahn has ever had a two year starter.

Yes, we're excited.

Edit: hit submit too soon. There were times, notably in the NCG and Iron Bowl, were he missed wide open TDs. If he can improve even marginally, I will be very happy.

First time we've had a starting QB return since Brandon Cox, and first time Malzahn has had one ever in college.

I think Marshall is going to be on point in 2014, and it'll be fun to laugh at the people that think he can't pass.

He's only been a college head coach for 2 years?

It's the first season as an OC or HC Gus has ever had a 2nd year starter in his system.

Has Malzahn ever had a second year starter in his system?

Thanks in advance.

If by smooth you mean short, untalented and temperamental then yeah he was pretty smooth.

there were instances in EVERY game where he didnt hit wide open receivers. So there is a great chance to improve. Great arm, but he needs to improve his reads and his accuracy. Hopefully in year 2 he can do that.

But what if Malzahn can't groom great QBs? Seems like he's just had a bunch of good ones fall in his lap. How do you know Marshall's second year will be better if Malzahn has never had to deal with that?

Then we will go to the NC game without "great" QB's. did you not see last year? Marshall has talent that fits Gus. Thats all that matters.

Wait, so you're saying y'all make the NC game no matter what? Because that's what it sounds like. Whether he improves or stays the same, y'all will go to the NC game according to you.
