Was going to ask atlgamecockman in a thread on the rant but didn't want it to be that public and derail the thread.
I'm HRTM. (Hotel, Restaurant, Tourism Management)

Economics and French. Got back in late December btw. It's good to be back in the land of the brave and the home of the free.
EDIT: I don't go to USC. I go to Emory.

Wait, I know we had a poster that was/is in Paris. Is that you? Majoring in French would make sense.

I bet. That's so awesome. My SO's mom is a French teacher and they were in France last summer. I'd love to go.

How did the USC connection happen? Also, I remember you said you were going over there. Did you ever get to go to Chartres. The cathedral there (what was left by the nazi bastards) is amazing.

I used to live in Cola when my pops was in grad school there. Mom's whole side are clemtech fans. I love to rib em.
And no I didn't get to Chartres unfortunately, Paris had something new for me every day. I did go to foggy London town for a weekend though, that was great.

I did HRTM, and I used it incredibly successfully for 5 years. When I was at SC the HRTM program was ranked in the Top 10 nationally under Dean Moody. Chef Jules Pernell, McKutchen House, was a good friend of the family, when he died a couple years ago that sucked, b/c I was going to thank him for the people he recommended for hire at the annual HRTM alumni function. His mom is still alive and actually lives up here in NC. I still have the framed picture he game me at the alumni function from '10 of the McKutchen House up in my office.

The rankings never came up until my last year with the company and I hired a girl from Mich St who went on relentlessly how they were better than Cornell and FSU. What year are you and what do you want to focus in (Culinary, Hotel, Restaurant, etc...?)

My SO lives in Tallahassee so I went to visit her over Spring Break and check out some places for an internship so I can be there in the summer. I went to their CVB, the Chamber of Commerce, and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association. Will hear back soon I hope.

Yes,
Does Coon still wear his Porche stuff and talk about his defensive driving instruction?

So you're looking at sales then? A lot of the CVB's usually want experienced professionals who already have a network built in the area. It might be a good idea to check out some of the larger hospitality companies as well. Hiring overall in the hospitality industry for entry level managers was insulated during the recession and now is growing even more.

That story is fricking hilarious Coon is a badass. And you aren't that old
The 1st day of class he was dressed like he was in a motorcycle gang or something with torn blue jeans, his long beard (shaved it shorter later), sunglasses, a leather jacket w/ fringes, and a bandanna. He went around to random people inviting them to a "sick party" and gave them his card. Then about 10 minutes after class was supposed to start and people had started to leave, he ran up to the front of the room and took his bandanna and jacket off and introduced himself as the teacher. Everyone that was respectful and nice to him when
he was "undercover" was given extra credit points.
It was a solid ice breaker.
