Bentonville West High School, Home of the Wolverines

That's what they're calling the new 7A school being built in Centerton.
I think its kinda dumb, because you'll have Bentonville High and Bentonville West. That kinda makes Bentonville High into East High. They should have just called it Centerton High or named it after a person.

My guess is they used Wolverines just for the alliteration, assuming they call the high school West. The West Wolverines. Meh.
If they were going with an alliterative title I would have preferred the West Wooly Mammoths. Could have gone by Mammoths for short.

Thank the lord they listened to the students and didn't go with the Bobcats.

Not sure, but probably because it'll feed from the BSD.
IMO they should probably either make it a generic, directional name like "Northwest High School" or name it after a person (Walton/Tyson/Hunt/insert name High School anyone?). I wouldn't doubt that it'll also feed from places like Cave Springs and possibly even parts of Bella Vista.

Many schools that expand name the new school(s) in this manner. It's really common. Plano came first then Plano East, then Plano West. Wylie recently expanded and now they have Wylie East and that's just in my area. Pretty much all of the ISD's (or whatever the districts are called in Arkansas thse days. Been in Texas too long) do this.

Other local school districts were a bit more creative though....Springdale Har-Ber....Rogers Heritage
Just not much thought put into it.
I had thought they go with just Centerton....or Bentonville-Centerton....
Mascots could have been....Skunks, Armadillos, Yankees, Panthers, Lions(mountain), Bears, Cowboys, etc.....
