They want to start in January of 2015 but it will depend on how much we raise between now and then.

30 suites will be added to the SEZ underneath the club level

The NEZ will have an on the field club level beneath the newly bowled endzone.

Hall of Fame is going in the Starnes building

Above is "phase 1" and phase 2 is to bring the East and West sides up to the standards of the SEZ. The only specifics he mentioned was adding another level above the pressbox for more suites, but says they talk every day about what they can do to both sides to improve them.

Do you have the quote from him about why they are building the arena so close to VHS? I read it earlier and it sounded like meaningless bullshite.

To me, that’s what Ole Miss is all about – connectivity socially, connectivity on game day, and the spiritual feeling that we have around this place. That’s really what drove the location,” he said.

It sounds like he's speaking to the family atmosphere of Ole Miss. I think it will be cool how they are close together. Will also be a great location to tailgate as well. You could use the arena for so many football related events as well i.e. pep rallys, etc.

If we ever get to phase 2 I will be so happy. I truly hate how VHS looks. The only thing I like more about our stadium than new DWS is how much closer our stands are to the field

I'm ready to get this expansion under way. It's way past due.

Yeah, I'll be glad when they match up the east and west sides. I'm interested to see how the new suites will look in the SEZ and the new NEZ.

Renovations to the east and west sides were never mentioned when the original plans came out after the Forward Together campaign was launched. I think Bjork understands what it's going to take to really bring things together in VHS, and I think we'll be very pleased once it comes to fruition.

The stadium doesn't look great but im pleased with the acoustics in the stadium. That place can get pretty loud. I've been to nearly every SEC stadium and that little stadium holds its on.

I agree. I don't think it looks bad, but I think Bjork will help everyone realize the potential it has.

Is then a later date or is this from an older write up?

Yeah, we have a good slope and DV is the only stadium that puts the stands closer to the field than ours. I think the over hang in the SEZ does a lot work keeping the noise in as well. Smaller stadiums can be just as loud because big stadiums all have upper decks which contribute zero on the field noise. LSU's most famous game noise wise was before their upper decks.

If overhangs could be implemented to the east and west sides with the jumbo-tron in the NEZ, sound would really be trapped.

Exactly, I believe the Seahawks stadium holds just a few thousand more than the current VHS. Over hangs would do wonders for the loudness of the stadium without having to add a ton more seats than we need.

I think the stadium looks pretty good from the inside now, minus the asymmetry on the east and west sides, but that's partially my OCD.

I'm not sure what the facade looks like on all sides but just putting brick on the outside of DWS did wonders for the aesthetics of the stadium, so something similar, if not already in place, would look great.

I think it was OB that said something about the concourse in the SEZ, which I also hate to see go because I thought it was a pretty cool area.

The only thing that really bugs me, and I've heard other OM fans say the same so I'm not trying to be overly critical here, is the underneath portion of the West? side. If they could somehow dig it out, level it off, and pour some concrete it would be really awesome.

ETA: on the stadium work. I think it will be pretty awesome when it's finished.

I am pretty disappointed in the direction of VHS. The very first plans looked amazing and now we are just going to half arse this expansion. The stadium really needs some cosmetic work on the east and west sides. There are completely different looks on each side of the stadium.

Where are we looking at in terms of capacity after the NEZ is "bowled in?" After we "bowled in" the SEZ in 2002, capacity jumped from 50,577 to 60,580.

I agree with the overwhelming majority of you jackasses that not only do we need to even out the stadium, we also need some cosmetic work done to the exterior of the stadium. An example is how TAMU is bricking in the exterior of their stadium right now.

Here are pictures of proposed expansions:
