I missed this at the time, but Conde won this a 2nd time on May 12 and was also named a National player of the week!!

From VUCommodores.com:

quote:

Nashville, Tenn. - Vanderbilt shortstop Vince Conde has been named the Southeastern Conference Player of the Week and one of the National Players of the Week by Collegiate Baseball. Conde posted a big week for the Commodores going 6-for-17 (.353) with two home runs and eight RBI. The junior jump-started the Dores' offense on Tuesday vs. No. 10 Louisville with a grand slam in the first inning. Conde is the first Commodore to hit a grand slam since he did it last season against Middle Tennessee. The Oviedo, Fla. native played long ball again in Saturday's win at No. 4 Florida belting a towering, three-run homer to left field as part of the Dores' eight-run first inning. Conde's three two-hit games during the week raised his total to 13 multi-hit games this season.
