It always seems to get the last word no matter how many miracles and remissions a person goes through.

I hate it.

I know how you feel.

frick cancer bro. Took my dad just this Christmas, less than 6 months after we found out. There are no words for the amount of hatred I possess for this specific disease.

Lost 3 grandparents to it.

In the last year:

My former pastors wife has breast cancer and my current pastor (LSU grad) had it in his eye and had to had it removed this last Christmas. My dad has skin cancer on his head and has had to zap spots to where it looks like he has a receding hairline going up his scalp.

It's a tough mofo and hits us all.

This. My grandmother, father and brother have all battled some form of cancer in my life time. The worst was seeing it on my 8 month old brother. Chemo is really savage.

Thanks guys. It really makes you question a lot of things in life you thought were truths.

Sometimes you get lucky, I got a stay of execution years ago and a scar to remind me of it. Thing is with cancer even if you get lucky when young another type can get you later on and even if it doesn't get you it will get someone else you know and love. Just more reason for all of us to contribute to research and support for families going through it. Once we crack the code on one cancer, the others will follow and it will be a joyous day for the world.
