So I am about to renew my DirecTV and can still make the switch to UVerse but really don't want to. What sayeth the Rant on the odds DTV picks up SEC Network by August?

If they have ESPN U, the B1G Network, I can't see them not having the SEC Network. I don't know if they have the first two, but the SEC Network is more important than those.

About the same as the inverse of Ark or Mizzou making the dance.

They have both ESPNU and Big 1G now. I am leaning heavily toward taking the risk. Talking to the guy on the phone last night he said he was a Bama fan and was very nervous about this as well because he knows DTV will lose a LOT of people if they don't pick it up.

and yet they don't carry PACN and made a public statement making fun of the whole concept of LHN. I think it's a risk.
You can go month-to-month on DTV and that's what I'd suggest until you know for sure.

What are they offering for you to renew?
If nothing of value, go month-to-month and shop around and let them know about it.
Otherwise, why box yourself in?

They are offering to cut my bill significantly and get a Genie. It's a 24 month commitment though.

I just switched from Dish and got $100 gift card, 2014 Sunday Ticket and a bunch of Genie fees waived for the 1st year. I also bundled with AT&T phone and internet and got a Samsung tablet thrown in for $100 above the $49.99 cost for the first year.
We'll see if they live up to their word on the prices.
I've had it for two weeks now and the only complaint is the Genie system is wireless and has had buggy issues almost daily. Fortunately, I'm friendly with the installer and he's helped me resolve the issues personally over the phone.
If the wireless keeps acting up, he's going to hardwire it, which would honestly be much preferred. Especially considering the hard coax cable is already in place.
We really need a pinned thread somewhere to compare notes on squeezing providers for the best deals.

I got the Genie back in the Fall and it is awesome. I love DirecTV, but I will admit to being nervous they will hold out past the season before they get the SEC network. I will seriously consider paying the $300 bucks or so to buy out of my contract if they refuse to add it.

if you care, I switched from DTV about a year ago. Ever since I've gotten at least one new offer a week from them. The offers won't go away because you go month to month.
