Shane Ray confirmed that he ran a 4.44-second 40-yard dash during the offseason. Mitch Morse is vindicated.

Yeah, that's pretty damn fast for a DE. Even off by a bit, it's still damn fast.

Pretty damn good article, particularly about Harris. What a story if that kid makes it.

re: Mizzou Football Spring Notes./Discussion

[quote] Perhaps no member of the 2013 class has made a more surprising move than defensive end Charles Harris. Pinkel's staff has made a habit out of finding under-the-radar recruits and hidden gems. But Harris is an extreme example, even for the Tigers. A week before National Signing Day last February, Harris was planning to attend Missouri Western State College when Mizzou assistant Andy Hill invited him to Columbia for an official visit. A few days later, the Tigers offered Harris a scholarship.? "I don't think he did a lot of weight training, things like that, but we saw this raw kid athletically. We watched his film and you didn't see a guy who was really a very good football player, but you saw an athlete with size," Pinkel said. "We got some of his basketball film. I saw as much of his basketball film as anything so we knew he was a really good athlete. ?"Now the intangibles. Is he going to be mentally tough? Will he be physical? A lot of those things you didn't see. Guess what? We hit on all of them. He's smart, he's a competitor, he's mentally tough, he's physically tough and he's got great desire. Those intangibles, if two of those didn't work, he probably wouldn't have played much. Ding, ding." Harris and fellow redshirt freshman Marcus Loud are Mizzou's second-stringers at defensive end as spring ball opens. And they've impressed the starters already. "Charles, he's such a hard worker. I mean, this kid, when everybody's at home, he's at the indoor doing drills by himself. He'll work out in the morning at six a.m. and come in and do the next workout at 2:30," Shane Ray said. "A guy with a work ethic like that, I feel like he doesn't have a ceiling. You keep working like that, you're going to do nothing but get better. That's gonna carry that kid and I can't wait to see what he does." ?"That's a pretty good story," Pinkel said. "I think you're going to see a player who's going to be a really impact player."

I think Harris is going to end up being a stud for us. Have heard nothing but good things regarding him.

PowerMizzou video of HCGP talking during yesterdays practice. Will try to keep more updated in the month of April as more practices/scrimmages will be occurring.

Solid article by Dave, as always. Really excited to see what White can do this year. He could be a breakout guy for us.

I'm very excited to see what this team looks like next year. A lot of question marks, but I generally like a lot of what I'm hearing

"He’s one of several high-profile offensive playmakers from the most prolific offense in Mizzou history who could trade their Saturday work clothes for Sunday versions this fall."

Anybody think this is a stretch? I think 2007 has the edge

Guess it depends on the criteria. The best way to do it would just be average PPG... 2013 may be better than 2007, just seems like that 2007 offense was unstoppable.

Not. There was one good defense Mizzou played that year (2007), guess which one it was?

I'm assuming he's talking about yards per game because I think he went on to state how many YPG they averaged last year.

Mitch Morse could pass for 40 good interview about his move to LT.

yes, quoting the Matter article that i believe you posted:

"From a 2013 offense that averaged a school-record 490.7 yards per game,"

With a whole host of very talented young guys coming in at the OL position, it's nice not to have to count on them immediately, because of the older guys in the program.

Agreed. Boehm is going to be an anchor in the middle and knowing we have 4 guys who will start next year all with some experience in games is great. Still would like to see someone like an Andy Bauer (if healthy) get SOME play time that way if an injury occurs we have guys ready. Or next year when there is turnover guys are coming in with experience.
