Didn't you hear? The investigator who sent him packing from UT is now in AU's compliance office. Not sure Bruce is gonna want to be doing BBQ's with him...

Pearl isn't going to Auburn, he may get the opportunity to coach his alma-matter.

Not great, not bad.

Meh.

Doug Gottlieb just said on Knoxville radio that based on who he's talked to he thinks Pearl will wait one more year.

I heard there were reports of this being a possibility early this morning.

Wojo...but he's likely waiting to step into the head role at Duke when Coach K leaves.

I can't see him not having that job, already, he handles many of the HC responsibilities, the one you will notice is dealing with the media during the game.

Even if he doesn't, going to Auburn isn't going to help him get it in the future.

Same things were said about Chris Collins, who used to handle a lot of the HC responsibilities, but he left to take over a pretty bad Northwestern program.

In the end, though, I agree that most any SEC except for maybe UK or UF would not be able to hire Wojo away from Duke. I think he stays unless a major program comes calling.

waiting one more year makes sense for pearl, imo... some nice jobs could come available... UT could tell martin to take a hike after he struggles next year.... same for grant at alabama (assuming he wants to stay in the sec).

I agree.

per AJC

quote:

White is a young guy -- he turned 37 on March 2 -- so he should be able to connect with players students and bring some excitement to the program. He spent four years in Alabama as an assistant at Jacksonville State, and he was on the Ole Miss staff for seven seasons before getting his first head coaching job. The Bulldogs have won back-to-back conference titles and are 52-13 in the last two years under him. Auburn has swung and miss with hot mid-major coaches before -- ahem, Tony Barbee -- but aside from his relative lack of experience, there isn't a lot of apparent downside to White.

fwiw, coach k has gone out of his way in the past to stear his assistants away from auburn vacancies.
