Bama is so in their heads.

Bama fans lurking in the Pelican State's bayous won't get a chance to sport their team logo on a Louisiana driver's license.

Senate Bill 138 allowing for placement of state university logos on driver's licenses or ID cards passed favorably Wednesday (March 12) by the Senate transportation committee. But the bill, sponsored by Sen. Fred Mills Jr., R-New Iberia, didn't pass the first of a four-step process before it's signed into law without a critical amendment pitched by committee member Sen. David Heitmeier, D-New Orleans.

"I just don't want to see any University of Alabama (logos)," Heitmeier said, after proposing an amendment limiting the bill to logos of schools in Louisiana. Mills shot back, "I don't think they'd sell any, but I'm fine with it."

The bill was approved with the attached amendment, and will now go to the full Senate for a vote.

This isn't about license plates. It's about the licenses themselves which I'm not sure why anyone really wants a college logo on them.

I guess so. I wouldn't buy one myself. I don't even have a UA tag thankfully I'm moving out of state soon so I don't have to get the ugly as frick new tag.

Yes, but if you get get logos on you lecense the state would have the same rule. No need to critize Louisiana for something Alabama would do too.

Guys, you missed the point. I could care less about whether or not you can put a certain logo on a driver's license.

I just thought it was funny that a state senator would go out of his way to name the "University of Alabama", not any other college; and they would pass a law prohibiting putting Alabama on their driver's license.

You can't see the humor in this? 21-0 and their 2011 GOAT team loss to Alabama has hurt the psyche of a lot of Louisiana people.

Those green tags are ugly as hell. I may pay the extra $50 for the space exploration tag or the UA tag
