Sure he doesn't have the typical NFL measurable. But f' that. The dudes a baller.

Whatever team snags this guy will be getting a play maker and winner. As a Saints fan, I really hope Sean Payton grabs him in the 5th or 6th round. He would be an awesome replacement for Drew in 3 to 4 years.

Name the last Steve Spurrier QB that wasn't a bust in the pros.

Most teams do not carry a 4th string QB anymore.

Surely one panned out in the CFL or Arena leagues?

You answered your own questions.

He is also injury prone.

Because Connor was coached by Spurrier NFL teams should stay away from him. I think that's ridiculous.

IDK, I see stats like 24 TDs and one int. with a 65% completion percentage in the SEC....he must be doing something right.

It isn't, they should also shy away from Miles' QBs.

NFL teams should shy away from Saban runningbacks.

That's fine. However if I were a GM I'd be looking for signs of intangibles that win games. I mean would you rather have Jay Cutler on your team putting up big numbers but failing on that critical 3rd and 4 or would you rather have a Russell Wilson putting up pedestrian numbers but making big plays in critical situations?

From watching Connor play I believe he has some of those intangibles. He's worth a late round risk, IMO.

I bet someone takes him in the late rounds. But none of the late round candidates get talked about.

He had a really great combine, his drills were really good, he was a Top Performer in just about all of them, and usually in the Top 3-5. Also, he was one of only a few dual threat guys with the balls enough to throw at the combine to WR's he's never thrown to before.

Draftek.com up'd his ranking 142 spots after the Combine and said the was one of the people that did the most to help his situation at the Combine. (There was a USF WR who went up 183 spots, I think that was the most from Pre to Post Combine.)

Walterfootball.com also said Shaw had a great Combine and now thinks he'll get drafted by the Jag's late, or by the Vike's or Seahawks. (those are the teams he and his agent have been talking with.) We also still have our Pro Day coming up.

CBS is projecting him now in the 6th round, which is up from the undrafted projections before the Combine. They also moved him up o the #11 QB Overall, which is awesome and shows how great Spurrier is. Shaw was the #20-ish Dual Threat QB on Rivals and 247 out of HS. Now he's the #11 QB Overall, with solid development.

He did enough at the Combine to get drafted. He won't go earlier than the 6th, but he'll have his shot.

FWIW, if he is going to fall past the 4th Round he is better off being a UFA and signing with the team he wants. Being a 6th Rounder that goes to a team that has 2 established QB's and he has to beat them out is a tough spot for a rookie.

I like the kid and he is a player. He showed some good athleticism at the combine but he doesn't have a great arm though and with his size that's tough to overcome.

Thanks for the rundown.

In general as a football fan you can't help but enjoy the way the guy plays the game. Maybe that's why his college years have been a little injury prone...because he leaves it on the field. As a fan of the game you have to respect that.
