Are these people in every city now? I get stopped on the street downtown by people asking me if I have a minute to talk about planned parenthood quite a bit now.

I find this very annoying, and have found that the best response is to politely tell them that I do not support what they are doing. I don't feel strongly one way or the other on the issue but do not appreciate being stopped in the street like that.

I would much rather give money to the homeless people who stop me on the street. I understand why they are there, but the planned parenthood people should just set up and let people come to them instead of stopping every person who walks buy in the middle of the work week.

Are these crazy people in your town too?

Haven't seen them but plenty of other street corner solicitors are here.

I'd rather give money to PP than the others.

PP is a business. I'd just ignore them.

I do ignore them as much as possible, but they make a point of getting your attention and stopping you before they start launching into their sales pitch.

I've just never seen them on the streets like this before the last few months and they get under my skin. They walk around the middle of the business district and ask people who are clearly at work if they have time to stop and talk to them.

Ask them how old they are then say that you support abortion until the age they tell you. I guarantee they won't ask you anymore and you'll give them a nice laugh during their day.

All you have to do is put in some earbuds and walk right by them. I've never stopped for any of the groups that do this stuff.

I've never seen them. I bet you could get them to walk away quickly, if you said, I don't support murdering whores.

Haven't seen PP soliciting here. But every church and "AAU Basketball Team" within a 50 mile radius has been set up at some intersections I go through on the way home.

The only one I've given to regularly is a local soup kitchen that I did community service with in HS. I honestly wish the city would enforce the laws they have against it.

What I hate, is there is an intersection on our side of town, every damn weekend, there are 6 to 8 people with buckets trying to get donations for whatever. I don't know why Bham police don't do something about this. And about every 2 weeks, a woman is there, claiming homeless. Her cousin or something like that, posted on a Trussville FB, who she was, and basically stated she's on drugs and all this other crap, trying to keep people from giving her more money to support her habit. Ultimately, it's B'hams fault for not cleaning this up.

Unfortunately I think New Orleans just upheld some law saying the police couldn't do anything about people loitering and asking for money. I think it was meant for the homeless but I guess it applies to all.

I don't see how they couldn't. Especially when they get in the damn streets.

I think it was saying they can't arrest them. So they can go tell them to get out of the streets, but if the cops can't arrest them i don't think they care enough to do anything.

Only time I've seen people in intersections taking donations it has been the fire department.

Drive down Gadsden Hwy and the Hooters intersection in Trussville, on the weekends, you'll get barraged. (Churches, cheerleaders, ball parks, homeless etc..)

I take that back, there used to be a group of folks that were set at the I-65/Lakeshore Pkwy intersection that definitely were not firemen.

I don't care for the politics of the place but I take issue with a tax subsidized business (not a like church that doesn't pay taxes, but like a church that directly receives money from the government from the tax payer)asking for more money from a tax payer.

I doubt they're from Planned Parenthood - probably anti-Planned Parenthood group or just someone running a scam.
