The Vols wore a school record five different uniform combinations in 2013, including the new smokey grays. And according to Top247 defensive end Sterling Johnson out of Clayton, N.C. that number could be rising when the Vols move to Nike in 2015.

"It did kind of excite me when I talked to coach Butch Jones and he was telling me about how they're signing with Nike," Johnson said. "He said Nike's trying to turn them into the Oregon of the South, and I really like that title, because that's a lot of uniform combinations."

The deal with Nike begins July 1, 2015 and runs through 2022-23. The company will pay UT $35 million.

Maybe in terms of uniform combinations. But I don't think that is a positive comparison.

In terms of wins?

Vols need to have more pride than that. Vols may be genteel poor right now but they have no need to associate with the nouveau riche!

Haha there is no way that will happen. Stanford and Oregon get so much money from nike because the founder graduated from those schools. Nike don't give a shite about Tennessee.
