I've always figured the series with the Longhorns would resume at some point, but I doubt Strong's opinion on the matter would matter much to their AD. I don't like this neutral site idea, though. And I sure as hell don't if that means Mexico City. Why they are even thinking about games there is a mystery to me.
These games against Lamar and Sam Houston State have no interest for me. Would be nice to have a solid home out of conference opponent in these years when Auburn and Alabama games are both on the road. Considering what these schools are charging these days for ticket prices, schedule somebody that matters, I say.

A&M seems rough geographically to get a solid ooc slate if the big 12 teams aren't willing to play them. SC, among others, have plenty of acc schools to play. In the case of LSU and UTn, they go out and get opponents from all over the place.

The Rice and SMU games are fine. There is a long history back in the old Southwest Conference days with those teams. The Arizona State series, starting next year, seems interesting.
Living here in East Tennessee, I kind of like this pairing with South Carolina. It's not far over the mountains to Columbia. I am looking forward to going to that one.

I thought I heard something a while back concerning a group of ACC teams playing SEC teams. Kind of like a conference challenge, of some kind. Has there been any more news on that front?

With KK at Tech now, I wouldn't be surprised if we got back into a series with them. I would love it if K-State or OU would say frick texas and play us.

Why would we want to play Tech, KState, or OU? They are all lose/lose scenarios. Do you miss going to Manhattan or Lubbock?

A&M should follow the LSU, UT route, Try to get some PAC 12 teams (or some ACC/B1G teams). Lot of good exposure.

I disagree they are lose lose. We don't lose recruits to K State and don't recruit against them much and almost never lose a recruit to Tech. That wouldn't suddenly change if we lost one game to them
It would give us an interesting OOC game (much more so in the case of Tech), which is something we badly need. I wouldn't mind playing Tech at a neutral site I guess but if we did home and home with either of those schools there's no way I'd be going to Lubbock or Manhattan anyways so who cares
