I like the guy, but is there any chance in this universe that he makes it to the next level in football?

Thorpe was a top-level athlete. No surprise he made the NFL despite never really developing in college. It would have been interesting to see how he would have fared had he not been a part of that Gene Chizik player-development mess.

Better chance he's back at Auburn as a Graduate Assistant teaching a new generation to leave the middle wide the freak open

I'll respectively disagree.

If he was, it sure has hell didn't transition over to the football field.

I seriously doubt it. LB's are pretty plentiful, heck one of the best in the Nation last year played for Buffalo U.

I seriously doubt it also.... He takes terrible angles when it comes to tackling and not only that, when he takes the right angle he usually tries to arm tackle... It really was hard to watch, I kept hoping he was gonna break out and start doing well... Just never happened. We had to work with what we had.

What if he made it to the Canadian League. Could you imagine Jake trying to cover their fields?

Thorpe made it to the nfl as a special teams player. He was great in that area. He was always the first gunner down in punt returns
