"If I'm at a school with a permanent opponent that I like and it's easier than playing Alabama, LSU or Auburn, why would I want to change?" said Alleva, whose school annually plays Florida. "You vote for your best interests, which is contrary to what this league usually does. Everybody is supposed to vote for the best interests of the league.

Bama fans and their schedule threads...

I think it's good for the SEC that we have the Deep South's Oldest Rivalry. I couldn't give two shits about the the TSIO, but I think maintaining rivalries is good for the league.

What's funny to me is that the LSU fanbase and administration are the loudest voices on this subject. They act like if the shoe was on the other foot then their stance on the issue wouldn't take a 180 turn.
You want what's best for the league, Alleva? Bull shite. Alleva and the lsu fanbase wants the easiest path for lsu and the hardest path for Alabama, and anyone that says otherwise has their head in the sand. It's pretty plain to see.
Remember back in the 90's when Tennessee was beating Alabama annually like a rented mule? You didn't hear a peep from our administration or fanbase about how it was unfair that we had to play the best team in the league every year or how it was unfair that arkansas got to play south carolina.
It boils down to the complex that infects lsu nation. Everyone is always out to get them and life isn't fair. The big bad SEC and big bad bama are holding them down because they're just terrified of the perennial juggernaut in Baton Rouge. It's really pathetic. Sack up and play. Florida lost to Georgia Southern last year. Sack up and play, quit fricking whining about how unfair life is. It's the nature of it

Lets do away with permanent rivals that run a hurry up offense and make the schedule for Bama harder so the refs dont cheat.
Now this thread has everything.

I don't support removing permanent opponents.
9-game schedule with 2 rotating opponents? I'm down for that.

Or some schools actually have tradition. Would it be more fair to only give certain teams like AU/UGA, UT/UA, etc a permanent opponent? Besides, I'm liking the budding Ole Miss rivalry. Both programs are improving, and the games have been great games the last couple of years.

Dude is always gonna push for this but we all know it won't change.
Suck it up and move on.
The rivalries are good for football and the league in general.
I would be rustled if we lost the annual Florida game.
