I normally stay out of this sand box but I agree with the article and some points listed below:
I also took in the Sporting News when it came in the real mail so frick off junior<

Empirical evidence or common sense — no one wins at this point.
It's a dumb rule that shouldn't have been passed and shouldn't even have been argued.
But is it any dumber than those claiming a lack of empirical evidence when common sense is turning the corner like a 300-pound pulling guard?

"I had nothing to do with the (proposed) 10-second rule," Saban said.
And no one believed a word he said. Why, you ask?
Because they have empirical evidence, dammit.

Matt Hayes has a strong article:
Where he basically said it was a dumb rule and never should have been passed....way to back up your argument.

I wonder if there was this much commotion going around when the triple option was popularized by D. Royal and Bear Bryant.

This whole debate took a very odd left turn at some point.

At least his title is right

Was reading The Advocate this morning (Baton Rouge newspaper) and there was an article about this 10 second rule. There was also an article just on Coach Saban and the issue. As I read the article, had to just smile as I was thinking this is why nobody believe this guy any longer. Yes, he may be the best college football coach in the country right now, but except for the script A's, I doubt many people believe anything he says any more as truthful.

Wonder if we hear any spin form Fat boy or Saban on this or if they just go straight to spring ball and move on.
