Since Nick and Bert are sooooo concerned about player safety (read win loss safety), and since Nick believes that smoking more cigarettes is likely more harmful to one's health, we can only conclude that Nick believes that more plays per game = more injuries.

I want a vote on this:

1. Yes (for limiting number of plays) or No (against pussification of football)
2. If yes to #1, the number of plays that would be appropriate to keep injuries at a minimum.

I expect Bama and Arky fans to speak up.

Ball is placed on 45 every series and the only play is a FG attempt. You either make the FG or get a chance to return it. Problem solved.

Change the ball to a plush teddy bear.

Step on a player's shadow to make him down.

If someone runs too fast, they have to start over to give other players fair chance to catch them.

Any harsh contact results in ejection and surgical removal of genitals.

Saban is pussifying Bama at levels only achieved by California. Recommend banning football and just award everyone a NC trophy.

0 plays

kickoff, get as close as you can on the return, then attempt a FG

TD on KR = 6
FG = 3

Just enough plays for Bama to get a lead.

Then the play clock becomes the game clock and Bama's allowed to run the clock dry, preserving a Nick vic.

For obvious reasons (actually having a lead), this rule would never apply to Arkansas.

4 10 minute quarters.
No blocking or tackling, flag or touch.
Played on a basketball court, indoors (very important).
Touchdown is accomplished by putting the football through the hoop, field goals from the free-throw line.
As many timeouts as needed. Referees will stop play if there are any signs of fatigue or stress.

Best answer so far. I would only change the football to be round-shaped (don't want any injuries from pointy footballs), and make the players bounce the ball anytime they move. No kicking the ball either (injuries). Only 5 players per team on the field (court) at a time.

the SEC would surely suck at this new sport... sounds like it would only benefit bottom tier schools like kentucky or florida...

In particular, Bailes points out that studies have shown that players are seven times more at risk to be injured in games than in practice.

What about just eliminating games and stick to practices? I know Allen Iverson would be opposed, but I'm not sure his opinion is that valid.

I think CFB should go back to 10 games regular season, 11 at the most.
