Dequon Miller and Jabril Durham are a couple of other names we've been mentioned with but haven't offered.

Be surprised at this point if we don't land Willie Atwood.

He's our top target, and a guy that instantly replaces Clarke at PF.

He's also the #4 JUCO player in the country, just like Clarke was.

Dickerson has been an Iowa lean, but we can get him in the end, assuming we make the NCAAT, we simply have a lot more to offer than Iowa, but he could feel at home there who knows. Would love to get him too, provide some experience and depth at PG next year with Madden moving to the two and Beard being a freshman.

Dickerson committed to Iowa on his visit and won't take any other official visits.

Personally, I hope we get Durham and obviously Atwood.

Yep, as I said above (or at least I think I did) he was a heavy Iowa lean for quite some time.

I still feel very good about Atwood choosing the Hogs, however Louisville is making a strong push late, Pitino just visited the other day.

Durham's team just lost to Atwood's team in the playoffs yesterday.

Hogs are also showing interest in PG Dequon Miller. LINK

We haven't offered yet, Ole Miss has, but he's high on the Hogs and we're scouting him pretty heavy.

Just got the text.

HUGE news.

Just when we show we need a PG in the baddest of ways, we land a great one.

Arkansas' search for an older point guard in this class has ended with the commitment from Seminole (Okla.) College's Jabril Durham.

Durham, 6-1, 170, committed to Arkansas over Oklahoma State, Auburn and others on Thursday. Arkansas saw Durham play twice last week with Mike Anderson seeing him on Tuesday and then T.J. Cleveland on Thursday.

“I'm really big on family,” Durham said. “The head coach and all the assistant coaches felt like family to me. They came out and went to my dad's house. They made the trip out to see me too. That showed me they really cared about me. They actually showed me they need me and not just want me. I felt needed not just wanted. They showed me they need a point guard.”

Durham is known as an outstanding shooter and very good playmaker as well.

“I feel like I can shoot the ball well,” Durham said. “I can score the ball and I can defend. I can do what they need me to do.”

This is shaping up to be a really nice class.

I think Babb might be able to play some PG too, if we needed him to. He reminds me a lot of Madden with his style of play and his size, but looks like a more natural ball handler.

Probably won't be necessary now, but it's nice to have multiple options at PG.

Good to hear, Beard with Durham backing him up will be nice, and Madden can handle the point when needed as well.

yes when I saw him play I said I wanted him over Dickerson and that was before Dickerson committed to Iowa. Jabril much, much better shooter than Trey. Just as good on defense and can run the point well too.

with Madden and Bell we might have a couple of shooters next year who won't have to create and can get on either wing

IF Bell can find some consistency. He's getting there.

But as it is now he'll score 19 one game and 2 the next.

Also, sounds like we are out of the running for Willie Atwood.

Jalen Hudson, whom we recruited earlier, and he signed with VT, may be an option again as VT's coach was fired just a bit ago.

Like most basketball players not playing in the event, Seminole, Okla., State star and Arkansas point guard commitment Jabril Durham spent time Thursday watching the NCAA Tournament.

Durham (6-1, 180), who averaged 21.2 points, 6.7 assists and 5.5 rebounds this season, plans to be playing in the Big Dance next season.

“That's certainly my goal,” Durham said. “I think we are going to have the team to be there and I am going to do everything I can to help us get there. I plan to be a leader on and off the court.”

It would be quite a step for the young man from Desoto, Texas, who has fought uphill during his basketball career.

“I ended up having only one Division I offer after high school and that was from Stephen F. Austin,” Durham added. “But the head coach decided to go with a juco guy in the end so I had to take another path.”

Durham then landed at NAIA Lubbock Christian and flourished as a freshman while averaging 11.1 points, 5.7 rebounds and 5 assists per game.

“I played really well, but it was always in the back of my mind that I could play at a higher level and I was watching friends of mine and guys I had played against playing Division I,” Durham said. “So I decided to take a chance and go the juco route and use that one year to try and make a name for myself.”

Durham did just that for Seminole State as he was 10th nationally in the junior college ranks in assists, 10th in number of trips to the free throw line and 16th in the country in both scoring and steals.

He hit just over 50 percent from the field (204 of 47), 44 percent from 3-point range (41-of-93) and 74.2 percent from the free throw line (187-of-252), had 202 assists and 75 steals.

That led to offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma State, Marquette, Auburn, Texas A&M and others.

“Arkansas just seemed like the best fit for me out of all of those teams,” noted Durham, who committed despite not actually having stepped foot on campus yet.

“I know they are losing four guards and really don't have what you would call a true older point guard so it is just a perfect situation for me”

quote:

“The one thing I have always been able to do is play defense and so that fits right in with Arkansas' 40 Minutes of Hell” right away,” Durham said. “I am also a scorer and distributor and pride myself on getting the ball to people in the best places for them to score.

“I also feel like I bring leadership to the floor, a great basketball IQ, make the players around me better and I feel like I have great character,” Durham said. “I just want to win and be a positive force to those around me while doing it.”

At least one target left on Arkansas' board is Georgia Perimeter forward Shane Henry, 6-8, 180. JucoRecruiting's Brad Winton reported Monday that Henry was deciding between Arkansas and Virginia Tech.

Henry averaged 13.2 points and 12.5 rebounds this season. Henry shot 51.3 percent from the floor, 43.8 percent from behind the 3-point line and 60.9 percent at the free throw line.

I think I have a new man-crush. What a great sounding kid. Awesome answers. Exactly what I'd want to hear out of a winning PG.
