Mettenberger, McCarron, Manziel are SEC Top QB's in 2014 Draft

According to a statistical break down of every throw they made last year.

For a league that was considered to have terrible QB play, things really have turned around the last few years.

Out of the three, AJ McCarron threw the ball less than 10 yards more than any of them.

No one threw 11-20 and 20+ more as a percentage of their total throws than did Mett. Big league arm. Drilled it from the far hash outside the numbers routinely at LSU.

Really wish he wouldn't have played at all in 2011. Having him this year would have been great. If he can develop some footwork and quicken his release he really does have pro potential.

How many of those were completed? You guys chunked the ball deep that is part of Cam Cameron's offense. That is all that stat tells you.

And something like 75% of LSU's targets last year were to OBJ and Landry, talk about spreading the ball around.

it's college, not NFL.

we had 2 extremely good receivers that no one could cover. should he have forced it to someone else just for the sake of spreading it around?

Well if you don't have the arm to throw the ball deep, do what works for you.
