For me, it's hands down Kurt Cobain.

Nirvana was cool, Nevermind was a great album, but frick Kurt Cobain. He was an overrated, depressed, junkie, puss cake.

He's glamorized way beyond genuine value by sentimental teen emotionalism and misplaced romanticism.

And Catfan81, he wasn't murdered by Courtney Love, he killed himself. He decorated his walls with his brains, and he pulled the trigger. Get over it.

Cobain just benefits from dying before he had the chance to release bad music.

I agree with all of this.. I read about 1/4th of a biography and personal journals before thinking "what a pussy" and going to sleep..

Maybe I shouldn't have tried reading it after the Keith Richards Autobiography.

I've always said this. When people compare him to the beatles as far as his impact on music, it makes me laugh. Dave Grohl was the most talented member of Nirvana.

I wouldn't compare them to the Beatles, but Nirvana did have a pretty big impact on the music scene in the early 90's. They, along with Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, and a few others absolutely changed the rock landscape at the time. Before them it was all hair bands.

Cobain is probably propped up a bit much due to his early death, but I saw Nirvana in concert and there was no denying his music talent, along with Grohl's and Novoselic's.

Is this a troll? Bonham is considered one of the best rock drummers of all time, and Plant is considered one of the best front men in rock of all time.

Yeah, but he didn't have a chance to linger on and release mediocre album after mediocre album.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers would be thought of in a totally different way if Kiedis had died after Blood Sugar Sex Magik.

I think Cobain and I guess Kanye, if he is rated high, would be the only two I agree with so far.

Well, the very concept of being overrated is that first you must be rated high. Thus, being rated high, you are now a candidate to be overrated. So just saying that they can't be overrated because they are rated so high is kind of not the point here.

And now I'm confused.
