I was like 5 or 6 so I don't really remember it, but Cornelius Bennett played alongside Derrick Thomas (if you consider him a LB) in the mid 80's. That's gotta be pretty hard to beat relative to the best LB squad ever (regardless of the school).

Courtney Upshaw, Donta Hightower, C.J. Moseley, Nico Johnson, and Jerrell Harris.

That's 4 starters (2 AAs in that starting lineup) from the 2011 defense and an All American BACK UP. Goddamn, that defense was loaded. I've never seen anything like it.

This is where I am on the question at hand.

The 2011 team had the following on the roster:

CJ Mosley - Projected first rounder
Dont'a Hightower - First rounder
Courtney Upshaw - Second rounder
Nico Johnson - Fourth Rounder
Trey DePriest - Will be drafted in first three rounds, if I had to guess
Adrian Hubbard - Will be drafted in first four rounds, if I had to guess
Jerrell Harris - UDFA

While 1986 had 2 of the most talented LBs in Bennett (SR) and Thomas (SO), my pick would be the 1992 LB corps of Lemanski Hall, Derrick Oden, Antonio London, and Michael Rogers. While none of those were individual superstars, as a unit, I think they were the best, and they probably had the most depth at that position in '92 than they've ever had...

Hall, Oden, & London were all voted to the '92 All-SEC team by at least 1 organization...

Give me 2009. I want Ro and Hightower with whoever else you want to throw in.

I love that Biscuit is boycotting the College football HOF because of them snubbing DT.
