RT @McMurphyESPN: In @ESPN poll of all 128 FBS coaches, only 25 favor 10-second rule proposal
Still, I expect it to pass, even though 103 are opposed to the new rule....

So 19% get to make the rules for the other 81%?

It said 25 are in favor, that doesn't mean that 103 are opposed. For all we know 100 of the coaches polled just don't give a shite. Which I assume is the case with half of them.

Woah take it easy there with your common sense. There's no place for that here.

The only rules that need to be fine tuned are rules allowing ample time for defensive substitutions when the offensive makes substitutions.
The rest of this nonsense makes those proposing look like pansies. It isnt about player safety, its about competitive advantage. Which begs the question, if there is a marked "advantage" for teams running the HUNH, why the need to hide behind "player safety"?
Its so transparent that it's laughable.

In @ESPN poll of 128 coaches about 10-second rule proposal, 73% opposed, 19.5% in favor, 7% undecided

Such a chicken shite argument.
I want to see the "data" they claim to have that backs up their whining.

Yep, most probably don't care since it will not impact their style of play. However, they might glad when they face a hurry up offense that would have prevented them from making substitutions on defense or incur penalties for doing so. The issue is not really the 10 seconds; the issue is that if a hurry up offense is ready to snap the ball quickly every down and does so while the defense is trying to substitute, the offense picks up an easy 5 yard penalty every time they catch the defense doing so.

They should just go back to the old 25 second play clock rule. The defense could sub and teams were still able to run hurry up offenses

The poll had three options:
1. Favor
2. Opposed
3. Undecided.
