I don't think it will be a factor at all. Kyler will commit before a QB is even named

You can't have it both ways though.... we didn't convince Kyle Allen to come here to be window dressing...if he makes an immediate impact does it truly matter? Murray comes here he can redshift and still have 2 productive years if KA is kicking arse for at least 3.

We recently had a wide out do this.

I hope we have some sets to utilize Murray's abilities even if he is a backup
If Allen is keeping Murray on the bench then I don't see the need for a change of pace guy every so often. Can you imagine a coach pulling Johnny, Mariota, or Winston for the back up?

You wouldn't need to pull Johnny or Mariotta because they are dual threat guys who run well and can throw from the pocket
If Winston had an athlete like Murray behind him I wouldn't be opposed to it in the redzone or as an occasional wrinkle. I'm not proposing rotating them completely, more like what OM did this year with their QBs. Leaving someone like that on the bench until it's a blowout is a waste in my opinion

Exactly. Best case scenario is three years of Kyle Allen, he goes pro early, and then we get two three years of Kyler.

Yeah that's the ideal scenario but as long as we continue to stack talent at the position and at the skill positions around QB I won't sweat it too much.

But OM QBs sucked.
Stanford wasn't pulling Luck. tu wasn't pulling McCoy. USC wasn't pulling Leinart. When you reach that level, you don't take out your best player to mix things up.

None of those situations would be remotely like this one but okay. All of those guys were backed up by players with identical skill sets. I also feel like you don't keep one of your best players and athletes on the bench when there are situations when his athleticism could benefit you.
Leak and Tebow, Shockley and Greene are two more similar situations.
Brunetti was excellent in situational play. And everything is relative, they were of comparable skill levels, I'm favoring this under the assumption that Murray picks up the offense quickly and is competent. If he is light years behind Allen then forget everything I'm saying

Tebow > Leak.
It can't think of a single situation where a great QB is taken out for a back up than can run.

Leak was a great college QB he just played for Ron Zook for most of his career. If both QBs live up to the hype this would be a pretty unique situation. We will just agree to disagree I guess
