We always start out slower until the weather warms up. It happens every single year. We'll start putting 11k in the park consistently in SEC play.

I was talking about as a whole. Hell, our club hockey team would make this list.

I posted about this before, but LSU is the only school whose total baseball attendance is comparable with the top total attendance for the top basketball schools.

Take last year for example, Syracuse led all schools in basketball attendance with 426,347 total.

LSU, on the other hand, led all schools with 473,298 total attendance for baseball.

One day, in the not-too-distant future, LSU's baseball attendance will outstrip that of the top attendance for basketball. Simply because The Box has a lot of room to expand.

Or because there are a lot more baseball games than basketball games?

That shouldn't really matter. For a school to have more baseball butts in seats than top schools have basketball butts in seats is impressive from the standpoint of college baseball's popularity.

I'm glad baseball is popular at Arkansas, too. It would suck to be somewhere that didn't have that springtime atmosphere. Its just as good as having a good basketball atmosphere, IMO.

The top basketball arenas are bigger though.

I guess because there is more interest? If LSU actually thought they could consistently sell out 25k seats a game I'm sure they'd expand.

If LSU baseball averaged 1 home game a week and the weather conditions were perfect (like basketball), I'm pretty sure they could average 30k per game.

Just did, two years ago. Next expansion won't be long in coming.

I'm not arguing that, I'm just saying it's stupid to compare total attendance from baseball to basketball. Way more games skew the stats.

It's silly not to realize that only one school can make that claim though.

then just look at the average.

Syracuse was mentioned earlier as having a lower total than LSU baseball, but they averaged 22k a game, basically double.
