Naw, when we lose one we should have won (which happens a lot in baseball), the beav will be back as strong as ever.

Did we win again yet?

What do I need with my right hand?

I'm definitely making the trip to River Walk Stadium for the Iron Bowl of baseball.

After last night's loss to JaxSt, I feel like this deserves to be the baseball thread

How do we go from beating Oklahoma State and Alabama, to losing to Jacksonville State, and then beating Xavier?

Is it normal for college baseball teams of have off night where they're capable of being beaten by middle-of-the-road teams?

Pitching is usually the culprit.

That's normal for all baseball teams. When you play 50 games or more a year you're gonna have a day where you can't get in a rhythm on the mound or you get cold at the plate. It happens to teams that make the world series. The key is winning series.

It happens to the best of pro teams. Someone called it and usually falls at the feet of pitching, but there are times a teams offense is dormant for whatever reason.

Looking back on Vanderbilt's season last year...

In late Februrary they lost to Western Kentucky and Evansville. I'm assuming neither of those teams are that good, yet they lost...or they both might be pretty legit, and them beating Vandy is no surprise.

Why the playoff series are so dang long

Nate Silvers blog has a good article about how long it takes for variation to be eliminated to two standard deviations for which teams are the best

Aka It takes roughly 80 games in the mlb to know who the top few teams are barring injury and freak outliers
