Dear Arky fans, I'm coming to live in your town

So, just got transferred over to Fayetteville from the icy tundra known as Pittsburgh. I'll be here for around 2 months and it is the one town in the SEC West I have not had the pleasure of visiting.
Heard great things about the town, and I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. I am a 25 year old and cost is of little concern. What are some things I should do here, what are the good restaurants, and the fun bars? If you can be detailed, that would be great, but a quick run through would be great as well. Thanks again in advance and its great to be back in SEC territory.
Also, could someone vouch for me to get access to your board while I'm down here? Thinking about going to the ball game tomorrow, which should be fun.

Good town. Can't say the same for the people or football though.

When I went in 09 we hit up Dickson street and had a blast. I was very pleasantly surprised actually, wasn't expecting it to be as cool.

Yeah, planning on heading out there tonight for sure. I just don't know which bars are great and suck there, plus restaurants.

When did you get back from China?

You're good to go. You'll probably get a better response to this thread if you post it on our board. Welcome to Fayetteville.

NW Arkansas is a retiree haven. Lots of golf courses if that's your deal.

The January before last. Been bouncing around the US ever since, with Atlanta, Pittsburgh, Dallas, and Tuscon. Doing a job where I fill pharmaceutical sales positions when a sales rep is going to be out for a month or two (ie: maternity leave). Going under a long term program to where I'll hopefully be back in China, Hong Kong, or Singapore as a general manager of a branch of the company in 5-10 years.

First off, where are you staying how old are you, and what kind of bars are you looking for? Our bars have gotten more specific in their clientele lately.
First thing I'd do is go the overlook (the "cross") at Mt. Sequoyah to get an idea of where you are and just how cool the topography of the city is.
Places I'd definitely hit before leaving town:
Hugos (burgers, bar)
Farrell's is a nice sports bar
George's Majestic is a bar that has been there since 1927, you gotta go there at least once.
The rest depends on what you like and how much you wanna spend.
A goal for you while in town would be for someone to take you to Ben's Apartment. You need to find a member. Its a speakeasy and no, its not some inside joke.

Thanks. If you've been to Oxford, my go to is to start off somewhere calm and high class like City Grocery and Boure and then head to a place like the Library. I do like a congested bar area as well to hop on.
One key advice I'd like is what are the 18 bars and what are the 21 and older ones.

It's not like that would be laughable. Walmart's the worlds largest retailer. Seeing where they work is at least partially interesting.

Do we even have 18+ bars in this town? I'm not sure.
Any of the restaurants would be 18+. Most of the bars are just bars, so they are going to card.
Younger people go to the restaurants, or a place like Common Grounds (which is actually pretty cool).

Sounds great. It's really the one thing Oxford is missing since there aren't a ton of great golf courses around (although there are some good ones). What are some good courses that y'all would recommend?

Calm & high class in the downtown area, all on Dickson unless otherwise specified:
Vetro on Center.
Theo's
Table Mesa (legacy building)
Bordino's
Doe's Eat Place
Aqua Fire
Wasabi
Hog Haus (although there are much better microbrews in this town)decent balcony.
Drinking at Common Grounds is nice and calm and classy. It can get pretty gay there, though.
Most every place is pretty low key early on. There' just a shitload of different bars, so try them all. The bars don't close until 2:00, so the crowd will be older and more sparse until around 10pm. That's when the younger people really start hitting the bars.
If there's a specific type of bar you are looking for, let me know. We have some that are hipster heavy, others are fratty, others are townie, others are ugly, some are dives, some try to be high class, etc.
