Bad Horse Pizza, a three-year-old spot dishing out upscale pies on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, has angered local parents by not allowing groups with multiple children to dine in the restaurant. A reservation for 12 was unceremoniously canceled by the restaurant after owner John Kandel discovered it would include nine children, according to DNAInfo.

I don't have a problem with this, but I'm wondering if it's even legal to deny service to minors who are accompanied by adults.

I have zero problem with this.

The Vortex doesn't allows minors and it's amazing. If you want to take whiny children out, take them to a children's restaurant.

ETA: It's perfectly legal. Children are not a protected class.

Well it's not a civil rights violation to turn away minors for things. At least that I'm aware of.

If the restaurant is "upscale", I get why they wouldn't want tons of kids there making noise and disrupting the atmosphere for their target consumers.

Yeah, I get it too. Except kids ruin dining at casual restaurants too.

Maybe I want to eat my dirty mexican without your brat jumping rope right next to me. She was. JUMPING. ROPE. And she wasn't even good at it.

Good for the owner. I'm sure the New York Politically Correct Nazis will attack soon, but adult patrons should come to his defense.

That's just not right, but I blame the parents. There's no reason why kids should be playing in the restaurant like that and it is the parents' job to keep their kids in line.

3 adults to 9 kids is not a favorable ratio. I'm sure this is taken out of context not serving to kids. I can see this particular instance being somewhat reasonable.

9 kids is a birthday party for christs sake

I never take my kids to nice places. We rarely eat out with them, but when we do we go early, 5ish, and we eat fast. They are usually annoying me, so I know they must be annoying everyone else too.

Its a tough one because from time to time you have to eat out with them and many towns don't have kid restaurants not named chucky cheese. In Chicago it was easy, many places catering to family and kids. Not so muck in Wilm.
