Potential Revolution

shite Is Getting Real

From FT.com article:

quote:

Violent clashes in Kiev continued for a second day on Wednesday as Ukrainian riot police battled anti-government protesters occupying a central square in the capital amid the worst crisis the country has faced since independence from the Soviet Union in 1991.

At least 25 people were reported to have been killed and hundreds injured in Tuesday’s violence – the deadliest clashes in three months of anti-government protests.

So when does Russia step in and what happens then?

If Russia intervenes that'll cause a whole new slew of problems. Jesus what a nightmare

I wouldn't be surprised if a civil war type thing breaks out. If I'm not mistaken the Eastern half of Ukraine that I think directly borders Russia is actually okay with Ukraine having closer ties with Russia rather than the EU and that these riots are only happening in major cities in only half the country.

Quite frankly Russia has held so much economic sway over that entire region for so long it has been difficult for them to break away from their influence under Russian threats of cutting of necessities that they supply.

They've been in. They put Yanukovych in power.

Yeah, what's going on in Venezuela is crazy as well.

People don't want government controlling their lives.

It works a little better here because we've blended super capitalism with state socialism better than other places. The large corporations work in unison with the government, instead of the government having first hand control.

I really don't see anything good coming from this. Western Europe isn't going to step in and help. They really were torn on letting Ukraine into the EU to begin with. This pretty much killed it I'm afraid.

I really haven't kept up with this. What was the source of the conflict, and/or the cause of the riots? It looks just awful.

I like this theory of our current situation.

Russia is likely already instigating the uprising.

we also have a large population of sheep plus we give a good chunk of smart people enough money to pacify them.

The current Russian installed government blocking EU entrance among a laundry list of other things like jailing political opponents.
