Anthony Grant - Alabama
Tony Barbee - Auburn
Mark Fox - Georgia
Cuonzo Martin - Tennessee
Billy Kennedy - Texas A&M

I say:

Grant
Martin
Kennedy

Fox and Barbee live to see another day.

Doesn't Grant have a huge buyout?

I'd say Kennedy.

Martin may have another year left, too.

5 million. Big but not a guarantee that's the reason he'll be back.

Mark Fox's UGA is 8-4 in conference play..I doubt his seat is that hot today.

He was a foregone conclusion to be fired before their nice run in conference play. Most Georgia fans I know want him gone, but this conference record will buy him another year I would think.

Then what's the reason he'll be back? Hope that next year will be better with the class and transfers?

Cuonzo has got to go. Great guy, crap coach. It is what it is.

There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding him. I know there was some good will lost when Hart declined to extend Cuonzo after a good year 1 or even add a roll over year after last season. A decision will have to be made after this season whether to extend or fire. You can't recruit when a coach has 2 years remaining on a contract, as you've seen with some 2015 prospects already worrying about that in regards to Cuonzo.

I think if they squeak in to the tournament it's going to put Hart in a very uncomfortable situation because a lot of people with pull around the program are not pleased with the direction and want Pearl back at all costs. I am not going to say it's not going to happen with Pearl, but a lot would have to right. I think a meeting between Cheek and Pearl would be a big step.

I think it is pretty clear he will be fired if he misses the tourney and extended if he manages to win a game or two. It will get tricky if they barely squeak in and then lose right away.

I personally don't think he's the right man for the job, but it's not my job to make these kinds of decisions. With that said, with the year we're having, and especially compared with our expectations coming into the year after losing KCP, I don't see him going anywhere.

Which at this point is the most likely outcome

I see no reason to bring him back, but with a first year AD and a good signing class like you said, he may get lucky and get one more year.

8-4 in conference doesn't get you fired.

6-6 against a very weak non-conference schedule does, though.

Again, he was pretty much a lock to be fired before their run in conference play. Does this run buy him another season? Probably, but I wouldn't say definitely.

They'll still need to finish strong to even make the NIT. If they miss the NIT, that'll be three straight seasons with no postseason whatsoever. That gets you fired.

I don't see why this run in conference play would change anyone's opinion of Fox. He's a very good X's and O's coach who would probably win big at UGA if he were an at least adequate recruiter, but he's been a disaster on that front.

I agree with you, and said as much in my first post in the thread. I firmly believe he is not the guy we need leading the program.

However, whether the AD sees it that way is another story. And the fact is that with KCP and what we had coming back, most thought we'd be lucky to win 10 games. And here we sit in sole possession of 3rd place in the SEC. Fox ain't all that, but he has done an excellent job this year. Like you said, if the guy could recruit his way out of a paper bag we'd have some potential, but he can't. But as an AD, they will probably but some stock into this season.

Felton was 2 feet and 9 fingers out the door in 2008 before we miracle'd our way into an SEC title and the tourney, so he stayed for 1 more year. Obviously he wasn't the solution, but you can't really fire someone after that. Just like it'll be really damn tough for McGarity to fire Fox after the year we're having.
