Thanks, 17.

This thread will be a great game by game documentary on how the '14 Dawgs won the SEC outright. As long as we get the bats going, that is.

I think we will get 'em going. Our pitching is going to be filthy though.

Didn't go today, but the stats look good as far as pitching goes. 3 true freshman.

Does anyone have Dakota and Reid's stats from the game? Interested to see how they did.

Pirtle, Bradford, Rea, and Detz had good weekends as expected. Britton looked great in the field but struggled at the plate. Obviously Woodruff has got to figure it out.

Pitching - B
Defense - A
Hitting - C-

I was pretty pleased with what I saw from the Diamond Dawgs this weekend other than Woodruff's continuing struggle and Wes Rea's inability to swing at a curve ball with 2 strikes on him. Great opening weekend crowd, great to see the fans get behind this team. Special things can happen with this bunch. Our bullpen appears to be solid again this year and we looked good in the field. Hopefully the "hits in bunches" will come soon enough. Didn't get to see the game yesterday but it looks like the bats might have come to life a little.

Britton looks like a good fielder so far. I never thought Frazier was a very good defensive shortstop....people seemed to overrate him a bit.

I thought Frazier was an outstanding defensive shortstop. He made every play look easy.

His arm was not good enough to play shortstop.

I think this is why people tend to overrate him a little bit IMO. He was "good" defensively for sure and made it look pretty. But Britton does have better range and arm strength for sure -- and not just barely. That's not to say that it manifests itself with him being a better defensive shortstop than Frasier -- just that the tools are there.

No offense to Britton, but I was a huge Adam Frazier fan. He may not have been the most gifted athlete at SS, but he made all the plays and had few errors.

I'll take a career .344 hitter, who hit .370 in more than one year, over Britton.

I would go a step farther and say that we will probably feel more of an impact on this team with the loss of Frazier than we will with Renfroe.

I'm not going all Darkhorse or whoever the idiot was that suggested Renfroe was no good, I'm just saying I think we'll miss the timely Adam Frazier hits.

Renfroe was our best bat last year pretty much anyway you look at it.

I was mostly with you until you dropped this one.

Frasier hit .287 in conference last year with a .338 OB%. That is something Britton should be able to replicate. Renfroe was literally all of our power and run production over a large portion of the year.

Yeah but in that Virginia Super Regional he went buck wild. If you could pull his postseason stats, I would appreciate it.

I didn't realize that his average was so low in conference.
