Have we ever been this loaded in the backfield?

the only person not a 5 star is Todd Gurley.

I don't know if any team has ever been this loaded.

I can't remember a time.

Really hope Hicks comes back on strong. Dude was raw but he added a whole new dimension to our offense.

We are set at RB and we're also really strong at FB. Hall and Hicks are weapons at the position. Dunno what Hicks did to lose so much playing time but Hall is no slouch. We've got good ones back there.

I actually look for Douglass to be moved to FB, soon. Not sure when...guessing after the season next year.

I can see this as a positive move. Just use him a lot. He's a beast that could help us win games. We have a shite ton of talent right now. It's still the coaches that worry me! Richt could frick up a wet dream. He has to get his shite straight. Let's hope that 2014 is better.

Likewise. Just hope our OL can improve at run blocking.

Douglas was going to be a FB all along. I'm looking forward to seeing if he can become an elite blocker to go along with his running ability given limited carries.

Douglas really doesn't weigh enough to be a typical FB. This is not to say that he couldn't beef up and do a good job in the position but a significant part of the job of a FB is blocking at the point of attack against LB's who are heavier than Douglas. However, Douglas is faster than your typical FB and blocking technique can make all the difference. Should be interesting to see how Bobo uses him in the offense.

Is Douglas really only 202 lbs per UGA's roster? He looks like a grown man carrying that ball. To your point Hicks is listed at 257

I really liked JJ last year and thought he should have had a lot more action and I still dunno why they went away from him. That said I think we have seen the end of the JJ era at RB

Douglas has been called "The White Adrian Peterson" by teammates because dude is just super ripped, strong, and fast.

I hear you guys saying FB with him, but I don't think that's accurate. I haven't heard a single coach say they intend him to be a FB, or that we ever did.

I wish he'd move to defense actually. With his speed and fearlessness to hit, he'd be a stellar ILB. With that speed and quickness, he'd be a sideline to sideline tackling machine and probably able to fly through holes in the line and get to the QB as well.

He might have actually gotten drafted at some other school. He almost went to GA Tech, and probably would have been their feature back there for his junior and senior year and done well enough to make it to the league. But here, he's going to have 3 or 4 RB's ahead of him, which is unfortunate. This kid is a crazy good athlete.

You guys also forget to mention that Bauta will be put in there on pseudo-wildcat type plays as well.

It's going to be interesting if Bauta can occasionally pull up and be accurate with his arm once teams start thinking run every time he's in.

This could be real interesting though. You put Hicks or Hall and Gurley or Douglas in front of Bauta blocking in the second layer and this could be very fun to watch.

Our options are incredible this year. Just hope the OL can play better.

Quayvon had some trouble blocking last year. Hope that improves. Regardless, we should have two quality fullbacks. Douglas at FB seems unnecessary.

But yeah, the OL needs to play well, or all the talent in the world won't matter.

If I remember correctly, the wildcat has been a detrimental wrinkle in Bobo's offense for this reason.

There was, however, that one Gurley wildcat touchdown...

Once he went in the right direction and found a defender Hicks was fine at blocking. The kid just has trouble learning the playbook.Hope to God he's
picked it up by now.

Yeah, he's a specimen. If he really masters his position, he could could really be something else.
